Pale golden hue. Freshness evident on the nose, with lemon-peach fruit undercut with a chalky, herb-tinged minerality. Medium body, with a nice crispness, and a firm, citrus-influenced, lemon acidity. Notes of white pepper. A little grip, through to a strong finish. A good, solid foil for seafood and shellfish. Drink now. 16 points

A very slightly deeper hue. Fresh nose, of white stone fruit, pears and blossom. Lovely fresh palate, crisp, but with body and a little textured, ever so slightly honeyed note creeping in at the end. Mineral, bitter quinine notes add the extra dimension that marks this cuvée. Very good indeed. Drink now and over the next year or two. 16.5 points

The same wine, but aged in oak for six months. Similar pale golden colour. The nose is completely different, showing buttery, caramelised, oak-derived aromas. Rounded palate, again strong on oak, but with decent structure and some grip alongside the soft, honeysuckle fruit. This is good, although much of the identity of the wine has been lost. I prefer it without oak. Drink now. 15 points

Some depth to the purple core here, fading to a cherry red at the rim. Appealing nose, of dark cherry fruits blended with tobacco, pepper and sun-dried tomatoes. There is a real sense of warmth here, a baked ripeness, but on the palate there is freshness and balance. A good, rounded mouthfeel, with ripe, ever so slightly grippy-tarry fruit which has a medicinal, cherry edge. This has warmth and extract, and is ripe, mouthfilling and approachable. Good. Drink now and over the next 3-4 years. 16 points

Vivid, deep pink. Nose of confected red fruits, glace cherries. Plenty of fruit on the palate although in a sweetly confected style; full, rather fresh, decent acidity. Would be OK, ice-cold, on a Mediterranean beach, but really not a style I like. 12.5 points

Cherry fruit. Evolving, meaty, gamey notes. Very primary at present. Full, peppery, black cherry leaf palate, with smoky, stony nuances. A little seam of dry tannins in the background. Firm acidity. Nicely rounded. Good potential here; needs 3-5 years. 16+ points

Good nose. Full-on, bready, crystalline fruit profile. Caramel edge. Simple, textured, slightly creamy palate. Soft mousse, which fades a little too quickly. Decent acidity though. Nice style. 15 points

Fairly restrained nose, with gentle mineral notes intertwined with savoury white fruits with a slightly crystalline character. There is some weight on the palate, and a hint of richness, but it is quite dry. Leads into a full, flavoury finish. Quite a ripe, open style, reflecting the warm vintage, and although not typical it has a good, minerally seam and just sufficient acidity - an essential element for this vintage. 15.5 points

More precision here. Fine, crushed rocks. Good texture. Broad, with depth, and good chaacter. But it is a soft, low acid style. Clearly this has been a difficult vintage for Chablis. 13.5 points

Sweet, leafy, black cherry fruit. Plump palate, with a soft ripeness, moderate acidity and a gentle tannic grip. Nice sweet fruit on the palate. This is good, with a more serious note than would be found in many Dolcettos. It needs 1-2 years to open out. 15.5+ points

Great colour; almost black at the core with a maturing, deep red rim. The nose is initially all maturing, perfumed, smoked meat; with time, though, it offers up bitter chocolate and black olives. The palate also needs time in the glass to develop; starting off hollow, it picks up in terms of concentration and impact with a few hours. It shows a little sweetness, good mouthfeel and a balanced structure. But it has a short, slightly bitter finish. Good flavour and character though. I expect this will improve further in cellar. Very good. 16.5+ points

Ripe, dense, red-black hue, which has lost the purple of youth but has yet to show any maturity. Ripe, spicy, dark fruits in the nose, and still showing some sweet oak. Surprisingly approachable palate, full of ripe, sweet, primary fruit enveloping a core of ripe, fine tannins. This has lovely structure, piles of lush texture and sensible extract. Delicious liquorice and blackberry nuances of flavour. Still very primary, but not at all as unassailable as I had imagined. Lots of potential here. Drink now or over the next ten years I think. 16.5+ points

Subtle, smoky, showing some nice white fruit on the nose. Fresher acidity, with some notes of cream. This has a good presence on the palate, and in this vintage is the better of the three cuvées, to my palate. For current drinking. 15 points

A more dense, more solid nose, if that's possible. Similar character on the palate, a full and weighty presence. More masculine in style. Decent acidity. Less commendable than the more classic Kimmeridgien. Drink now. 14 points
