Nice though slightly murky deep garnet in color, no legs to speak of, and an appealing dark fruit (prune, blackcurrant) nose. But a big let down on the palate; whatever fruit may have been there is overwhelmed by a flat tannic acid taste and a lingering sour tannic finish. No character, no structure and not at all enjoyable. (And this wasn't because it was oxidized or a flawed bottle.) |
