Really pretty and already very expressive, with a surprising amount of forward fruit - slightly candied red cherry, almost maraschino cherry, alongside rose petals, a bit of amaro, and crunchy wild berry acidity all over the nose and palate. The only detractor here is that the tannins are really gritty- it could use a couple of years to integrate a bit, but I think it'll be just fine if drank with a rich meal (unfortunately, we shared this all by itself- I don't usually love when a wine *needs* food to show properly, but there it is.) I *might* be underrating it slightly for the price, and I'm curious to try his Barbaresco.

Tasted at Tre Bicchieri. Excellent Langhe. So perfumed on the nose. Lighter in body than the Manzola, but still has the floral and cherry, red fruits. I usually skip over this and buy the Barbaresco bottlings, but I would buy this.

Tasted at Tre Bicchieri. Not as perfume-y on the nose as the Langhe, but very nice. Red fruited, nice balance. I forget if Manzola is a sandy vineyard, but it always comes across that way, with the red fruits, and elegance.

Tasted at Tre Bicchieri NYC. Classic traditional Barbaresco. High tannin and acidity. Big flavor but light texture. Cherry florals and minerals in layers and a long finish. Needs mid-term cellaring at the minimum. Beautiful wine. 94-95.

Tasted at Tre Bicchieri NYC. This was delightful I thought. Tastes like traditional Barbaresco. Aged for a short time in old Botti. Floral and cherry nose. Nice purity of fruit. Long and approachable. Great with food, if only served some decent food at this tasting! Like most of the ‘21 Nebbiolo’s I’ve tried this is really nice but one of the better ones for sure.

Barbaresco is a region in Piedmont, Italy that is famous for its powerful Nebbiolo-based wines that age brilliantly. Like Barolo, these wines are known for having intense floral aromas that contrast with their big beefy tannins, but there is a point of departure from Barolos, as Barbarescos are a bit lighter in style and have more delicate tannins than their next door neighbors. This difference is often attributed to the region having fertile limestone-based soils and a slightly milder climate.

Pale ruby in color, this wine offers a pronounced nose of ripe red cherry and fresh red raspberries accompanied by black tea, star anise, graphite, a bit of leather, and something floral in there that is hard to decipher (I am admittedly terrible at identifying specific floral notes). Upon sipping, one meets a dry, medium-to-full-bodied wine with high alcohol, medium-high acid, and punchy high tannins that linger on the front of the gums. The attack features a flash of red plum before being joined on the midpalate by ripe red cherry, raspberry, graphite, leather and black tea. After a few sips, star anise begins to make an appearance as the wine continues to open up. The finish is moderately long and very tannic, starting off with red cherry, which transitions to black tea and leather before leaving a long tannic afterglow.

Overall a good wine! It is still a little young and could stand to have a few years of ageing; its fruit is intense enough that it will not fade into obscurity, the flavor profile could benefit from some tertiary notes, and the tannins are still a bit rough. That being said, it is an enjoyable wine and it went quite well with a pasta with red sauce. Definitely recommend enjoying this with some kind of fatty food to smooth out the tannins.

Beautiful translucent color. The nose shows classy aromas of ripe strawberry, spices, flowers, pipe tobacco and saline minerals. This is medium full bodied on the palate with excellent concentration and excellent class. The fairly long finish features robust tannins and a saline note.

A light bodied but lean Barbaresco. No violet or eucalyptus on the nose, just cherries and spice. It is light but serious, with a layer of acidity on the edge of the cherries and some very fine tannins that are more noticeable on the finish. Enjoyable food wine with plenty of life remaining. It feels young, not disjointed but still a little primary. Will revisit after 25.

Against my better judgement, I opened. Light cherry nose with a touch of rose. Mouth filling structure and very dry with finish of clay pots. Needs another 5 years as tannins are mouth drying and acid level is very high. Decanted 3 hours and will try again tomorrow.

Better on day 2; however, probably should not have put argon in bottle. A big wine. I would hold until 2028.

I have upgraded my marks for sure, but again all the winemakers I have met lately have also upgraded their craft ! they are just reaching limits in their quality research !

It just amazes me how the wines can be both age worthy and show so well in their youth, it is a sign of great viticulture, terroir understanding, vintage reading and sense of place ! hats of to all of them !

Trombone 20 is a beast, but in a soft glove, intense mint aromas, with a rush of alcohol here, dark fruits, sage, aromatic herbs, dusty oak flavors, just complex

palate is just perfect, I m speechless, as this is so long and salivating, it's 37° C outside (like a 100 F) , and burning ! like a yellowish air curtain is enveloping the place, it really feels like suffocating, and yet I want to drink a 14.5 alcohol wine from 3 years ago ! Damn that sure is talent !

Very Long wine !

Small hidden estate, the Nada's are quite a family, I need to try Danilo's uncle Ado to get a more precise expression of this secluded area within the Barbaresco/Tre Stelle hills...

That 2020 shows even more mint and eucalypt than the Manzola, intense !

When the palate is tighter, it is so well rounded tannins that the acidity feels almost like lacking here, but it is so well balanced I trust the wine too have its fair amount of acidity still ! It's just rounded and such fruit driven that it eclipses the austerity ! Very drinkable and "cellarable"

Manzola is always the lighter of the 3 Crus here, but not the least interesting and according to vintage it can be one of the most interesting crus around !

Its nose is minty and eucalyptus driven, so fresh and vibrant !

The salinity is the biggest asset of the palate, with high level of firm tannins, the wine is long and sapid, salty... It's really softer version of the two others, but with a true soul, salinity is its trademark with a driven acidity !

The wines made by Danilo are of a rare breed, with a light side that make them enjoyable young, and still they can age marvelously, on top of that he can do really very age worthy tannic wines, with just letting the terroir speak for itself I believe.

That Nebbiolo is for drinking you can tell, as it shows licorice, and flowers on the nose, and palate is just refined, and elegant, with subtlety and really nothing harsh here, one would expect just more power or a baby Barbersco, not the point here, just a great Nebbiolo :)

Very interesting! Earthy nose, with scent of truffle and cigar. Ripe cherries on the palate, meat, leather. Long lasting, tannins very well integrated. Once again 2008 rocks.
