BYOB dinner NOTK (Supernova hotel, Rotterdam): Showing remarkably well, this very young Charmes-Chambertin. Red fruit (forest strawberry, cherry), herbs, some oak, licorice, some black fruit. Elegant and seductive. 92+

Very aromatic. Fennel and fennel seeds, eucalyptus.
Fruity, but not much tannin. Need to drink up but still very good. A bit acidic.

4th of 6, pnp, perfect cork and level, little changed from bottle last March, layered fruit flavours, some meat with hint of farmyard tending to red with hint of raspberry, fine drive, as ever more pleasure than technical mark, upside, 10+ years......so a perhaps mean F (17.5).

Delicious on opening - bright, balanced acidity, a vibrant wine.
Unfortunately it completed faded with ~90 minutes of air. One dimensional palate dominated by oak / vanilla notes.

Deep translucent ruby. Nose of darker but ethereal violets, dense fresh-cut berry, fine earth, hints of camphor. Layers of drenching raspberry and Bing cherry fruit salted with evenly matched tartness and deep iron-inflected sweetness on the satiny palate. Fresh acidity and firm tannin. Long finish of rich echoing berry, fine dusty earth, and iron filament. Continued beautiful evolution of this wine with more to come.

it's a lovely perfumed Chambolle-Musigny.

Lukt: krydder, mørke røde modne bør, også friske yngre røde bær, er litt fat (fatsødme),
Smak:
Frisk, mørke og lyse bær, krydder, avslepne med tydelige tanniner 6/12, lang, litt fatpreg, en vin du vil ha neste slurk av. Glimrende!

Dark fruit on the nose with some cocoa and forest notes. There is a bit of a stony minerality as well. Juicy on the palate with some savory nuance and that bead of stone going through to the subtle tannins on the finish. You get the sense of the elevation of the vineyard at the top of the combe, I think that perpetuates the juiciness. In a good place now and should continue to drink well for a decade, I think.

Medium garnet with a hint of ruby in the class indicative of some age. An hour after opening I get morello cherries, raspberries spice and tar. The palate is refined smooth round tannins. Fruit is prominent with spice and herbaceous element. Medium finish with some enjoyable but tart and sour tannins line the gums following some cigar box. Continued to open up and smooth out the palate and finish at the 2-3 hour mark.

From magnum. Dark red color. Surprisingly Pinot’ish with marks of dark strawberry and cherry fruit and sous bois notes. Good persistance and depth and in the spot for drinking. Great match with Confit de Canard.

Good wine but nothing too special. Quite firm still, might improve with age? Feels more like a Gevery Chambertin than Chambolle. Producer location might be bigger part of the expression than grape origin?
