Drank this at Crystal Jade Palace with my wine mates. Theme of the evening: Wines that start with the letter Z.

Straw green-yellow in colour. Wine was pumped up and ready to go from the start. Shedding its fruit bomb image, this wine is more lean, focused and sharp. Diligent and does a good job delighting the guests and matching with the food.

If you need a go-to wine to start a party, this is the wine.

Deep yellow. Very mature. quite a throwback to older versions of chardy with complex full flavour - no Chablis here. Lacking anything thast scales the heights, reasonable mid week drinking

Well chilled. Screw cap seal.

Grippy beyond-floury white tannins are first impression, then some ripe Marlborough Sav Blanc fruit, most of the usual suspects, but with lively acid that’s just a bit too lively. Maybe it just needs to settle? It’s barely 2 yrs old. It feels as though there’s enough power and intensity in here for it to eventually morph into a decent Marlborough SB, but those qualities don’t feel like it’ll morph into a great one.

QPR?…..£10.99 promo, feels worth that but no more. I’ll wait for the 2023, the VM Cellar Selection pretty much has a dependable rep’.

An absolutely superb wine. Still a good few years left in the bottle. A big densely concentrated Pinot Noir. Deep dark fruits. A stunning purple black colour in the glass. A very mouth filling wine, chocolate and earthy leather flavour's. The best Felton Road Bannockburn I have tasted. If you have a few left in the cellar, try n leave them another 4 or 5 years. You will not regret doing so. But you can enjoy this beauty like we did tonight.

Excellent price to value ratio.

Passion fruit, maybe some green apples, fresh acidity, a little cut grass (could do with more)

Drank 2/3, capped it back on and reopened on day 3. This wine was still as bright as in day 1!

This is one of those wines that will sufficiently accompany the dinner table. Nothing to boast about complexity, but still an excellent wine no less.

Execellent with sushi and sashimi which I had it with on both occasions.

Definitely will be a staple in my "daily drinker" collection.

Got in a recent auction mixed lot. Looks old, the colour is of Brown sherry. However what is in the glass in remarkable. Limes intermixed with barley sugar. Sweet and with lovely zingy acidity. Classic mature, sweet Riesling with all the character.

Medium ruby. Med plus violet wild strawberry raspberry red plum oregano nutmeg lavender. Med(+) acid med minus body med alcohol med plus finish dry silky med minus tannins. Fresh and floral. Then after some time herby cough syrup and oregano note emerged and so did a bit of sweet spice. Oak isn’t prominent but is 30% new. 11 months so not too short. Quite similar to mid priced Dundee hill Pinot. Really floral and herby but a bit racking in fruits to me. 87+
