I gotta say this wine starts out wonderful; purple to red, garrigue, minerals, minerals, and fairly airy. But like the other bottle I had, it quickly becomes pretty tannic (bitterly), and overloaded with dry chalky wet minerals. Again, I think this is the real deal, but it needs a lot of time to come into its own. (391 views)

The real deal here. This starts cool and purple, with some intense Southern Rhone markers and floral notes. Also has some clove/stem tannins that pucker you up a little. Finally, some strong mineral, quite tactile in the mouth (almost too much). This wine will benefit from a lot of cellar time, and I think the score will actually go up! 90++ (372 views)

Wine Watch Best of 2009 Tasting (Ft. Lauderdale, FL): Intense dark red fruit with a kick of spice. A little overblown for my taste, but more time in the bottle may have it tone down some. If you are a fan of Central Coast rhone blends, you might want to drink this young to get that youthful intensity. (484 views)

Very powerful, rich wine but the fruit, juiciness and alcohol a little overblown for my tastes, perhaps giving it a bit too much of a nod to a more new world style of wine-making, undoubtedly part of the reason why it showed so well with Parker. Still a wine that undisputedly has substance and class. (657 views)

Decanted for 2 hours. Loads of red fruits on the nose and the palate. The high alcohol level does show a bit. Full bodied. Relatively balanced already but i would recommend cellaring this for at least a few years. (790 views)

Sweet concentrated fruit on the nose: strawberry, blackberry and dark cherry. Some vaguely Pinot-like earthiness. A bit perfumy and charcoaly with some toffee oak coming through.
Full-bodied and fruity with good acidity and somewhat grippy tannins. Alcohol is quite big in here. Nice minerality, some smoke, liquorice and dark chocolate. Good lenght.
Young and a bit restless but altogether quite promising. (742 views)

Purple dark ruby colored. Needed 1 1/2 hours of airtime to show its stuff. Deep kirsch, blackberry nose with hints of licorice. Full-bodied palate of dark cherry and berries. A very nice wine for $20. (1661 views)
