Petrol on the nose. More sweet than acid. A bit out of balance.

Nose is mostly cedar, graphite, with not a ton of fruit. A little hard when first opened, but became more generous with air. Still, this is very dry and serious cabernet, not plush or fruity. Excellent example of a style you don't often see in Washington. Long finish.

Nice medium wine. Ready for drinking. A little heavy on the alcohol, but good taste. Should be consumed by the end of 2016.

Good enough but far from great. Though, in all fairness, I had high-ish expectations. As well, an anticipated benchmark for its acidity & crispness, which was based on other varietals - namely the Pine Ridge Chenin-Viognier. Therefore, my impression is skewed. All things considered, if drank well chilled, one will garner moderate pleasure from this bottle of wine.

The nose shows dusty red fruits w/ some oak and vanilla. On the palate this wine I ready to drink ... Tannins are soft and mellow and acidity is beginning to fade. Showing concentrated black cherry and vanilla ... Oak is present but not overpowering. A relatively basic California cabernet but it drank well.

Dark fruit, plum and pepper notes. Flavors of black fruit and plum, pepper and vanilla with a subtle meaty undertone. Somewhat firm tannins. Develops a chocolate note with air. Guessed Napa cab-based blend.

I'm in the camp with SRH on this wine. Yes, it's cheap, but you pay the price in drinking a thin, fruity, unstructured, boring wine. Better to pay a few more bucks for something decent. The Wayne Gretzky 2013 cab at $13, for example, runs circles around this. On the upside, The CC Grand Estates did do the trick as a main ingredient in a wonderful Bolognese sauce my wife made. I'm actually saving the other 2 bottles I have for the next sauce! Bon appetit! Life's too short to drink bad wine!
