i had this on n dec2014 and commented
Deep vibrant red Aroma Licorice and blackberry Palate A nicely balanced full fruit wine displaying licorice flavours with an elegant but subtle blackberry flavour aged for 24 months in French oak, needs another couple of years in intergrate the oak and fruit

The wine has softened a little but still very fruit driven 6yo now and still going strong , not sure why I said subtle blackberry flavour , this wine is full on blackberry, black current flavours, will try it again in 6 months
The prefer the Malone Shiraz to the Cabernet at this stage

Kaesler tasting (United Cellars, 100 William Street, Sydney): Medium minus intensity aromas of earthy notes, brooding…red berries, quite jubey, vanilla, mocha, perfumed in fact. In the mouth juicy, quite lightweight compared to the other two vintages, tannin dominates here - it's thick and chewy and the medium minus intensity fruit struggles underneath it's oaky weight. Not sure about this one.

Kaesler tasting (United Cellars, 100 William Street, Sydney): On the nose the wine is rich, unctuous, concentrated, black cherries, sweet spice, cream, chocolate, vanilla, quite perfumed…in the mouth, again, the wine is rich dense, chewy, chalky tannins and oak to the fore, with concentrated black cherry fruit and sweet spice. Quite drying tannins in fact. Still a puppy with all that impetuosity of youth. I like this...today.

Kaesler tasting (United Cellars, 100 William Street, Sydney): Dusty, thick, floral notes - almost a lily note oddly enough - black cherry, cream and chocolate, quite a lot of alcohol heat, vanilla notes, quite rich on the nose. In the mouth the wine is rich, dense, plentiful alcohol heat, over slightly jubey black cherry fruit with menthol notes as well. The tannins are sweet and chalky, still quite oak dominant, chewy in fact. Big, boisterous, but quite savoury finish. Hmm.

Kaesler tasting (United Cellars, 100 William Street, Sydney): On the nose the wine is perfumed, floral with tinned green peppercorns over ripe blackberry, vanilla and a slight rubbery and smoky note. In the mouth the wine has quite juicy acidity, savoury bramble notes, then lots of chalky tannins that dry things out quite a lot. This is definitely too young at this juncture...it's quite Northern Rhone for me and kind of nice but one I think it will be a lot better in 3-5 years.

Kaesler tasting (United Cellars, 100 William Street, Sydney): Slightly cheesy, funky, meaty notes…not out of condition, a little hollow in fact, muted black berry and currant fruit, lightly spiced. With time cream, chocolate, vanilla and slightly rubbery notes with time. In the mouth the wine is quite juicy and savoury with concentrated black fruits and plain chocolate notes then slightly chalky and course, drying tannins and a certain coolness to the palate from rather a lot of alcohol. Hmm to Meh for me. it's a bit out of whack.

Kaesler tasting (United Cellars, 100 William Street, Sydney): In the nose slightly dusty, savoury and spiced black pepper, less fruit generous, meaty and plain chocolate tending to mocha over brambly fruit and slight red current. With time and agitation the fruit ripens. In the mouth there is medium plus juicy acidity, taut, savoury, brambly fruit with plentiful peppery spice then tight chalky but quite elegantly handled tannin. Unfortunately this beautiful balance is punted into touch by a slug of alcohol heat on the tail end. Needs time I suspect but has potential.

In the mouth the wine is rich with ripe black fruit tending to liquorice notes, quite broad on the palate, dense in fact. Concentrated fruit then quite fine and talc like tannins which lingers with slight pepper. not much acidity here. Apparently this is from a drought vintage it certainly comes across as a warm vintage wine. I rather like it.

Wild cherry and Asian five spice powder on the nose. Plush and velvety in the mouth with good flesh and underlying minerality. There are some tart cranberry and pomegranate fruits that give a delightful snap to the finish. Australia'a answer to high quality village Vosne.

Looking at the wine it is obviously aged but you would never guess it was almost 30 years old. Nose has reasonable fruit surprisingly with hints of American oak. This wine is lush, rich, even sumptuous. It has amazing mouth feel. It is much more pleasant drinking than a Grange of similar vintage from the 80's. At it's best now but still many years ahead. Love it!!

Bought this on sale at Dan Murphy's recently for $20. Decanted for 2 hours, lots of sediment as you'd expect from a 9 year old wine...
I have no idea how to describe wines, I'm only just getting into it...
The wine is quite soft, but the flavour certainly doesn't smack you in the face, or linger longer at all...it's quite easy to drink, but it certainly doesn't leave me with the 'wow' factor...
I've had better flavour and length from cheaper wines, but I'd be happy to drink it as a mid week substitute...
Scored 88 to keep it on par with the average at the time of writing...

Perhaps a typical warm climate Oz interpretation? Ripe and juicy in quite a pleasant way. Red berries and cola don’t get much structural support but doesn’t impact in any negative way at the moment.

Solid MOR performer. Ripe but retains enough citrus and oak to keep it focussed. Some tangy fruits speak to a medium climate quite accurately. Upmarket quaffing wine.

Colour dark Crimson.
Fruity bouquet of dark berries.
Earthy and spicy flavour with long finish. Not overly fruit driven.
Tannins are breaking down but could still do with prolonged cellaring.

This is seriously good. Deeply pitched, tightly coiled, exotic but restrained. It is fresh and spicy with some blood plum notes. There are some red berry and floral things once you give the wine some time in the glass. It is linear with great focus and length of flavor is superb.

Off an 80 year old vineyard at 400+ meters above sea level. This is a beautiful, highly perfumed Grenache. It has an intoxicating nose of fresh flowers, red berries and earth. It is fleshy in the mouth with luscious fruits that have a real juicy quality to them. It is perfectly proportioned and the structure is there but at the moment its buried deep in sensual fruit. Quite outstanding.

Looks youthful, tastes youthful. Can easily keep 5 years or more. Beautiful nose quite similar to the style I vaguely remember at the winery. High toned, lots of fruit, concentration, power, good acidity and still, mouth coating tannins. The aromatic lift and fruit flavors give it a very elegant MP pinot nose. There are no faults to me, good complexity and a longish finish. I should have left the rest in storage, I think I'll put them back in. But this delicious now if you try one. Am not familiar enough with MP pinot to imagine what it will be like in 5 years.
