Bouteille en parfaite condition mais bouchon très friable. Into neck. Grenat mat et foncé. Nez proche d'un Bordeaux avec des arômes de bois noble, de havane, puis de sous-bois. La comparaison s'arrête là car, en bouche, le vin offre un profil sur la chaleur, une extraction poussée, une certaine mollesse. C'est assez agréable à boire mais fatigant. À boire.

Unpleasant meaty nose at first but after an hour or so the fruit started to come through with medium toast and soft tanins, pleasant drinking for a while but seemed to fall away towards the end of the bottle.

A lovely wine for sure, which is dominated by ample fruit full of sun warm strawberry, raspberry jam and subtle red currant. There is also a quite persistent oak sweetness adding to the overall experience, but which certainly could be a bit more balanced. The palate is integrated and tannins are soft and silky. Still the oak is there to say a rather firm hello. Finish lasts some 40+ seconds and the texture/structure tell me it is time to start drinking, though a best guess is there are number of years to go in the cellar for those who wish.

Bottle variability continues. Somewhat flat nose although undistinguished dark fruit is given some backbone from dark savory spices. A bit too high back palate acidity. Faded after approximately 45 minutes. Drink now.

This wine has classic Priorat nose and slightly bitter and astringent finish. When opened, the wine was a little cold and hard but opened up about an hour later. Definitely a wine for hearty food. OK.

Writing tasting notes for this amontillado is beyond my abilities. What I can say is that this wine is intense, though not as intense and vibrant as amontillados I've tried from Equipos Navazos, and that it is deep, rich, and old-tasting. It is obviously a high quality amontillado. What I like most about it is the deep, less-volatile core of rancio, nuts, yeast, leather, etc. But the rancio notes are not profound. Moreover, I find that the saline, brine, and fruit flavors, though clearly present, are somewhat muted. In my opinion, the subtly increased masculine depth from long aging is more than offset by the subdued vibrancy that also is a likely result of that aging. In other words, I wonder whether this was aged too long.

Sweet blue and black fruits, new oak vanillin with some dough at the end. Palate is ultra smooth with medium tannins and shorter than usual finish. Still quite impressive and approachable at this point
