Jorge Ordonez Selection. 14% abv. Label claims that the Almansa region is an excellent environment for producing wines of great extraction (code for modern ripe style?) Darkly colored; opaque. Cedar wood shavings on the nose. As to fruit, I get more dark plum than berries or cherries. The palate also leans toward plum notes. It benefits from having the wine with food such as beef or ground beef. It does have a long finish with a hint of bitterness at the end. I would probably not buy again.

Great mouth feel. Silk and velvet. Blueberries on the taste. Vinturi with 1 hour decant. Helpful. Incredible for $12. Great color for 85% Grenache and 15% Mourvedre. Fine wine. If I can find more recent vintages I will buy. Nice stuff.

Tres surprenant et excellent. À retrouver...

The extra bottle age has helped soften the toughness of this wine a few years ago. Still drinking strong with a few more to go...

More vineyard land in Spain than Italy. Very dry wine. quality wines from spain are pretty much organic BC they don't spray. Cab like. Ready out the bottle rice pasta red or white meat. Stew meat. $10.99 excellent

Just plain bad. Spicy and not it a good way. Tempted to pour out the balance of the bottle.

Overly acidic, masking any fruit that might be hiding in there, and making this entirely unbalanced. I would be a little surprised if this is stylistic, but I also detect no discernible flaw. Maybe it just needs (a lot?) more time, but I won't be trying another bottle to find out.

Best QPR of the year so far. This one is going to be hard to beat for $12. It took about a half an hour to open up and when it did it was pretty good. Flavor of blackberry and blueberry with a nice finish.

Ok, so perhaps I was a little more excited than I should have been with the last bottle of this. But still, decanting makes a HUGE difference here, and it's still an excellent QPR. This time, even with time, it still tasted a bit candied and manufactured. Palate or bottle variation? Not sure. Cherry and some cigar box, with some black currant. Still a buy for $8! 88 pts.

Fairly simple and a bit sweet. Almost tasted more like a pinot noir than a granache, with red berry fruit dominating the palate. Easy to drink, and a nice qpr at under $10.

Pnp, bouquet of ripe blackberries and currants filled the glass. After few minutes coffee, cocoa and vanilla emerged. There's right amount of acidity initially then enveloped by cocoa, oak and charred red meat. Alcohol and jamminess in check. Nicely done!
