For the money this is a great bottle of wine. Some red fruit upfront and solid tannins. This wine has another 5-10 years ahead of it.

Sweet, lush, fat, juicy, ripe, spicy fruit for a price you can afford and drinkable on release. This unique wine is produced with the highest percentage of Petit Verdot in Bordeaux that takes up 60% of the blend, the remainder consists of 35% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine reached 13.5% alcohol. 88-89 Pts

A simple, everyday table wine with good structure and enjoyable attributes. A deep purple color and an earthy nose of forest floor, mushroom, licorice, and dark berries. The palate replicates the nose plus black pepper and some spice and caramel on finish. Solid structure with medium acidity and tannins and rounded medium-length finish. Very good overall.

Violets, ink, graphite, and funk driven bouquet and taste profile. Excellent acid, solid structure, big mouthfeel. Agreeable finish. The Petit Verdot adds a level of interesting.

Ten years after the vintage and this wine is great... Still can wait years from now as the tannins are still powerful.

Very nice. I think this wine settles in better with some air, definitely better the second day. It is smooth, with just enough fruit, and a subtle finish. Excellent value at this price point. Drinking well now and should continue for several more years.

Granato cupo. Il naso richiama piccoli frutti rossi, anche in confettura, menta, pepe verde, una iniziale grafite e note ematiche. Bocca piena, equilibrata. Molto sapida, con tannino robusto e lievemente rustico

This is great qpr. Red fruit and what I want to call wet stone on the nose. On the palate there is graphite, vegetable, and maybe a slight coffee. Tannins are fading but still present and the acid is good. This is a great mid week food wine with plenty of opportunity to make it to 2018. This is not an oak bomb or an afwe but solid qpr Bordeaux.

Pours a deep purple, which turns to magenta at the rim. Nose is black cherry, mixed dark berries, earth and spice.

Flavors follow the nose with the addition of a prominent graphite component and a hint of tobacco on the finish. Tannins are drying, but otherwise unobtrusive. Balanced, straightforward, and easy drinking. No rush to drink, but should keep for at least another 5 years.

From magnum.

At 35% petit verdot, nose and palate predominantly of graphite. Medium body and decently concentrated. Medium acidity and integrated tannins on the finish. As others have mentioned, this is a fairly one-dimensional wine predominated by PV.

A nice, simple Bordeaux with a good QPR. The nose offers cherry, raspberry, licorice, and mushroom. The palate shows sour cherry, dark berries, graphite, ink, mushroom, and some vegetal notes. Good structure and balance with low/medium acidity and tannins and a good low/medium finish.

Wow when i first opened this small 375 I figured due to its size that this this would be around its prime... boy was I wrong... those first few sips were so tart i couldn't believe it... with a little air this turned into a super value.

Dark Fruit on the nose, maybe a little graphite of a smell... taste of very dark ripe fruit, well integrated with the tannins... great value of this excellent 2005 vintage

Tasted blind. Smelled like oak, with a bit too much alcohol. Its taste was a bit disappointing compared to its smell. Nevertheless, i liked it.

I agree with the previous review notes, including "the dry, lingering finish." This wine pairs beautifully with food. (For me it was Stilton cheese followed by broiled steak.) I liked this wine enough to buy another two bottles which I will keep for a year or longer. Living in Washington, D.C. partially explains why I paid so much ($20.00) but it is worth it. The distinctive presence of petit verdot is also worth noting, adding dark violet color, stouter tannins and imparting concentrated fruit flavor on the palate.

Deep ruby color, this Petite Verdot blend has the nose of cherry, mushroom, and soil but it is somewhat muted. The palate is earthy and offers cherry, black currant, tobacco, bacon, vegetal notes, black pepper, and some bitter chocolate. The low/medium acidity and tannins give a firm structure and the finish is medium length. Overall, it is a very nice, everyday bordeaux with a good QPR and I especially recommend it for those who'd like to try a Petite Verdot dominant blend.

Impressive young Bordeaux for the price. Silky and ripe on the entry yielding to firm dark berry tannins with a dry, lingering finish. High petit verdot content gives it impressive structure.
