Lovely - comes across as quite light, fresh with some grip and energy.
Had to look at label as other reviews said 14.8% and id had had it around that or lower
UK label says 15.5% and given US and UK ABV tolerances that and upper seems likely
Even so a lovely way amount it and light enough delivery though dusty nose and vibrant fruit follow

The wine is superb; decanted for 3 hours and the bouquet of aromas flourished. lovely little dark red fruits, inky, violets and rosemary notes, charcoal, tobacco leaves, some earthiness. fine tannins, well integrated, balanced, high alcohol however not showing to its fullest, long aftertaste. Brilliant.

Opened a 375 and let it sit for five hours then decanted using a vinturi. Dark fruit with hints of mocha on the nose. The palate was mainly dark berries, dried leaves, thyme and hints of mocha. The finish was moderate to long. It is a good wine, I bought a few over three years ago and at a lower price point then they are asking now. At this price level I would have to really think twice about it.

Decanted 1/2 hour and drank over the next 1 or 2. Each sip was better than the last. Exceptional flavors, dry, elegant with wonderful balance.

My last two bottles of Continuum have both been below average.

1hr+ decant. Dark red color. Nice nose of mature cherries, earth, and subtle baking spices. Wine was tannic, spicy, and unrefined. Medium plus depth but weak finish. Disappointing for the price.

Opened as part of a massive Macdonald tasting with Alex Macdonald in town. This was the first vintage Continuum was all estate (Sage Mountain/Pritchard Hill), and not include any sourced To-Kalon fruit.

Oddly enough, I can’t give this a score. It seemed a little muted at times (maybe low trace of TCA?), although the one time I got aromatics from it, it was as expected. I think I may have one more…I hope I do.

Gave this a two-hour bottle decant before diving in. Great color…red, purple, black tinges. Muted nose. Palate was better…spiced dark fruits, sweet espresso, graphite. Tannic. This came across one dimensional (which is not something I ever get with Continuum). Chalking this up as a one-off and expecting the next bottle to be its normal tasty profile.

Late night drink with J at home. From 375ml bottle. Drank over 1.5 hours. Drank in Sydonios Meridional.
Appearance is clear, very deep opaque intensity, dark purple colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of toasty vanilla oak, sweet oak spices, deep blackcurrant, creme de cassis, licorice, black tar asphalt, black pepper. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (14.8%), very smooth velvety high tannins, very full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of black tar asphalt, black licorice, creme de cassis, blackcurrant, blackberries, sweet spices, purple sage herb. Strangely the finish doesn't come up as long as expected, more like medium+ only. Maybe because it is so smooooth?
Very very good quality. Still super fresh and lots of inherent power feels.
65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 15% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot. Sage Mountain Vineyard.

Richness is this wine's middle name - as well as mouth-coating and wonderful!
It is dark fruit based and has lovely balance and character with an incredibly long finish.
This is a great wine with many years left.

Appearance is clear, very deep intensity, opaque purplish ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of big oak, black licorice, blackberries, black cherries, blackcurrant dark tar asphalt. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, high alcohol (14.7%), high tannins, big full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of black licorice, blackberries, black cherries, blackcurrant, black plums, dark brambly spices, sweet oak, mysterious black tar. Long puckery tannic finish.
Very good quality. Big wine, verging on blockbuster style. Dark and fruity. Will last.

Initially a waft of alcohol, followed by scents of brambly stewed blackberries and black olives. Loam and wet earth on the complex finish. This has nice underlying acidity to keep the fruit fresh and in balance. The tannins are finely pixelated and give the wine a good firm structure. Well made and enjoyable.

Bordeaux + Napa pirates (Tøyen, Oslo): Slow oxed 3 hours, followed 5 hours

My god, this is high alcohol, and it shows.. (15.5%)
Dark and hot nose.

Palate has so much coffee and chocolate, harsh tannins. With time, something resembling fruit grew in the background, but too little, too late for me. Not a fun drink tonight

Un-named Atlanta Wine Tasting Group - High End Reds; 12/7/2023-12/10/2023 (Beebe House): Wine #2 in blind tasting of 7 "high-end" red wines paired with grilled NY Strips and Grilled Beef Filet Mignon.

Huge change from '86 Bordeaux tasted before. Purple in the glass. On nose, blueberry, sweet cherry and vanilla. Full body, low to medium acidity, tannins covered by fruit (seemed low) with a long finish. On night 1, rated this 92-93. Guessed very young Merlot dominant Napa Bordeaux blend. I don't have much experience with higher end Napa wines given price & don't like their flavor profile (generally - this is funny as my favorite wine in the tasting was a '14 Outpost Howell Mountain Cab). Tied for 5th place in tasting out of 7.

I had the privilege of trying 24 hours later and it was a different wine. Given my wife drank most of what was left I didn't get more than a sip, but more complexity on the nose & palate vs. showing on night 1. Would love to try this in 5-10 years. Rating above is high end of range and based on night 1 tasting.

Napa Valley Red Bordeaux Blend more

12/11/2023 - Arrow of Time Likes this wine: 95 points

Could tell there is something special here, but had at a restaurant and could only decant for 1.5 hours. Feels like it needed a few more hours or many more years laying down.

Nose was beautiful, although not fully open.

When drinking it was not overly tannic but was certainly tight. With each sip over a two hour dinner being better than the last.

The 2016 with a 4 hour decant (v the 2018 with a 1.5 hour decant) was a completely different experience.

This has potential to be incredible, but we should be patient.
