Fairly ripe smelling on the nose (a touch of cola?) with the palate smoky and densely dark fruited (almost plummy). The finish has a touch of grip from the mostly resolved tannins. Good acidity and fairly elegant weight on the palate, but the wine seems a little four-square and perhaps too ripe.

Red fruit, cassis, pepper, a bit of leather on the nose. Tasted of blackberries and pepper. Medium body. Had with dinner, very nice pairing with a duck and, interestingly, a spicy apple/pear relish on some scallops

Great wine that has a firm floor of tannin and tart pomegranate characteristics from the tricky vintage. Lovely vinous nose and integration with lots of decaying forest floor and earth notes. I wouldn’t wait too much longer and enjoy while there’s still some bright fruit quality

I really liked this wine last evening. It came together quite well after it was open for an hour. Lots of red fruits, a little sour cherry at first that mellowed into more luscious raspberry and cherry fruit. It seems to have a number of years of life left. A very enjoyable Burgundy!

So this bottle is very good compared to the one I had in December, thankfully!

This wine has an inviting nose of blue violets, and the color is a beautiful red. It has nice dark red fruits, including cherries and raspberries, plus nice minerality. It is rich, savory and medium bodied, with silky tannins and a medium finish.

Opened and decanted 30-min prior to dinner of grilled chicken with mixed fruit and pasta salad. Needed about 90-min to fully open up as it was nervy on opening. Murky crimson color with a purple hue. Floral nose brings forest floor, purple lavender, sprint violets, grape compote, cherry cobbler, and dusty cedar chips. The palate is medium, square, and compact, bringing a hard core of blueberry jam, blackberry pie, sour rhubarb, and high-toned raspberries and orange peel, followed by black tea, wood smoke, and hints of strawberries into an extended, tannic finish. This wine is textured and complex but still integrating, so drink 2026-2034. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 91.

Allowed to breathe in glass 1 hour. Clear medium deep ruby color. Notes of raspberry, cherry, and their liqueurs; stony soil, earthy mushrooms, animal musk, soy, Christmas relish. Very nice.

Took to a friend's house for dinner. PnP. Medium dark red. Lovely Volnay nose. A bit clenched on the palate but still very Volnay. Not sure if this will improve further but it may. Nice wine but was overwhelmed by some older Barolos at the same time.

Dégustation de 4 Bourgogne rouges en semi-aveugle.
Le nez est un peu bizarre, un peu funky même au départ, très exuberant, caramel, griottes entre autres lorsque le vin prit plus d’air, le nez s’améliora grandement. La bouche elle est très belle, une texture agréable, puissant et fin, très belle longueur. Encore bien jeune. Le vin se glissa au final au 2e rang de notre petite dégustation.

The nose is a touch funky and stayed like that for a while, got better with time to reveal dark cherries and a touch of caramel. The palate is much better, great texture with power and finesse, nice length. Delicious. Still young and the wine slipped in 2nd place barely after the nose changed a bit.

I will say that I was concerned for this bottle long before I opened it - it had a cloudiness to it that suggested premature oxidation or being too old, and while it wasn’t as bad as I’d feared, I think my concerns were valid; it just didn’t have the clarity or translucence of literally every other old Burgundy/other lighter old wines of mine when held up to intense light. My intuition tells me it was just a tad too old, hence the score and not marked as “flawed”, but given my relative inexperience with flawed wines (I’m privileged as hell I know lol), it could have been a touch premoxed as well. Cork was slightly colored but not too bad. I would check that and especially the cloudiness factor before buying if you can.

waffling between 92 and 93.

upon opening was a bit restrained and 90 points. after an hour it came around in a soft elegant way. just a tad bit more complexity would be preferred. did have a great balance and i can see why it was adored by others.

only drank half the bottle. fast forward to the next day, now, it is still nice, maybe better maybe the same? oh yeah its burgundy. it does what it wants! like a cat.

certainly no crime in opening these now. i feel it will go for a long while. will it get better? time will tell and that is up to the cat ))

the QPR is excellent considering its terroir.

9/12, excellent cork.
Pale/medium ruby/garnet core, wide pale garnet rim. Nose shows dark cherry fruit, soil, touch of iron, some rich, mulchy notes. Medium bodied, attractive on initial entry with dark fruit, soil., touch of meat, quite mouth-filling with lovely contrasting, vibrant acidity, medium/good length finish. The tannins are a touch sandy on the finish still but certainly better integrated than previously. Very good indeed, touching excellent. No hurry here, to 2030 at least.

Un Gevrey dans un style classique et pur, le bois est quasi imperceptible, une belle profondeur, un équilibre maitrisé sur ce millésime chaud. Excellente bouteille, ce vin a encore quelques années devant lui.

Pall Mall 67, Singapore. Suitably ripe.but not overripe as attested by somewhat translucid colour. Black fruit, some spices. Some nice resonance and tension and light tannic bite on the finish. Should reveal layers of complexity with age.
