Very light red fruit on the front and an adequate balance of acid. It feels like a wine built to appeal to a wide general audience. If you want a safe middle of the road wine, this is one. If you want something with character, this will miss. |

The flavors seemed muted and there was a slight effervescent buzz that I don't like in a still wine. However, I warmed up to this wine very quickly. The flavors deepen as your mouth becomes accustomed to them. I normally drink heavy reds and the crisp citrus flavors of lemon and grapefruit were a treat. It paired well with the roast chicken we served. |

Kept about half a bottle in the decanter over night, did not fair so well the next day, strange aroma of raw egg. Even so, a strong effort, and I somewhat discount this day 2 effect. I've noticed that some wines don't do well overnight in the decanter, while others (notably, Seavey) almost require it. |

The flavors mirror the nose and the wine is reasonably structured (medium acidity, medium sweet tannins and well-integrated 14.5% ABV), but there is virtually nothing in the middle! The resurrected finish is very terse. This wine, albeit not terribly expensive, is not worth the price. Alexander Valley Cabernet fruit should produce something better than this. There is nothing special about this bottling, although there are no significant flaws. Drink now-2017. |
