4/23/2024 - Barnaby33 wrote: NRThis is a wine that'll make you think. Not because it catches your attention or hits all the right notes. It's good cab, no question. The question is, is it more than there? I opened this on a lark. On the nose straight napa cab, lots of dark berries and some oak. On the palette balanced, though nothing really noticeable on the finish. Well made, but it just seems to be there. At its price point I can't say I'm disappointed but seldom do I get an ah-hah! I don't know if this will age well, I suspect tolerably so. Is the style intentionally middle of the road? Will the wine evolve into something really interesting I don't have a strong opinion and maybe that's the most interesting thing about it. |

4/19/2024 - Raywilliams420 Likes this wine: 93 pointsDark fruits then red fruits on the nose but primarily dark mountain fruit smells typical of cali mountain cabs. Dark purple hue with no signs of aging occurring. Also smell some vanilla Taste kind of jumps at you. Semi get dark fruit flavors that simmer down into approachable but bold fruit flavors of dark an red fruits. Tannins aren’t very aggressive but take center stage over the acidity. This wine taste better Than I thought it would. Not as big as I might have assumed. Pretty approachable now an can age an become more harmonious an tender on the palate. Drink if u like , just give it some air an time first. I let this sit in the bottle for about 3-4 hours with minimal air |

3/9/2024 - oldwines Likes this wine: 92 pointsDecanted a couple hours before tasting with dinner of grilled steaks and venison medallions. Surprisingly youthful appearance with no bricking or signs of age. Still rather primary fruited with blackberry, plum and cassis. Nose and palate show moderately heavy new oak aging. Reasonably good depth, complexity, and balance. Minerals/graphite. Chewy texture. Nice package though not assertively compelling. Probably ageable longer still in a cool cellar, by no means near the end of its life. Much better today than its early scores would indicate. |

Nose: cigar, dark dried cocoa powder, espresso, blackberry black currant, prunes, leather, complex flavors; this wine is excellent. |

12/17/2023 - ffjxc Likes this wine: 92 pointsLots of fruit still. Jammy with nice legs. A little green pepper, but still somewhat tannic for a 30+ yr old wine. Decanted it & it got better after about a 1/2 hour. Was not expecting much as the the wine had seeped through the cork after taking off the foil top. Have one more bottle & will be drinking soon. |
