Substandard QPR. Much better Chards in eastern Washington state.

Tasted non blind. Tasted from magnum.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of roses, currants and kirsch. Flavors of black raspberries, black berries and black cherries. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink or hold.

A huge hit of strawberry fruit on the PNP, after an hour in the decanter fruit subsides and becomes much more restrained. Racy acidity and mouth drying tannin, really a good food wine. Not complex but it was made to be a house wine in a restaurant and I would be happy being served this as a house wine.

IMO it will improve in a year or two.

Surprisingly complex and drinking at peak. Medium dark ruby to magenta color. Nose of stone fruit compote with hints of cedar and graphite, nicely integrated dill hints. Taste is balanced and cool, more stone fruits, like the edge of a berry pie. Balanced finish without the excessive alcohols and barrel profile of their other wines in this age range. Glycols in aftertaste are lasting and satisfying. Excellent, very good friendly.

Opened and drank with grilled pork chops, roasted potatoes, and broccoli. Sweet oaky nose with plenty of meaty nuances, dark, ripe cherries, and even some motor oil. The palate is big, round, extracted, and supple, bringing loads of juicy black fruit, leather, herbs, meat stock, soy sauce, and ripe raspberries into the finish, which is dry, saturated, and has good length. Feels like this is nearing peak so I would drink over the next few years through 2018.

Dark garnet with red plum nose. Lightly dry tannins with moderate fruit, acid present and a little sweetness for balance. Fruity without being jammy. More an old fashioned mellow red than an austere food friendly Sangio, drinking well now.

It was really beginning to oxidize, which is a pity. I need to find who donated the lot this was in, and not buy next time. Hopefully the other bottles in the lot are okay. It's drinkable, but it would be unfair to rate it.

100 Days of Rose, Day 2- So a 16.1% abv wine last night to the other end of the spectrum tonight with a 12.5%. This wine is delightful. Bright, acidic, dry. A very light pink color. If you are familar with K Vinters wines you know his style is big with a side of over the top. The wine is the opposite of those wines. Balanced and low key. Very enjoyable.

5/26/2015 - pdunscomb Likes this wine: NR

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry and cherry. It tastes like blackberry and cinnamon. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Overall, a pleasant wine with a decent balance of fruit and acidity. I prefer something with a bit more funk, but this is a nice complement to a spicy, or otherwise strong-flavored, meal.
