Pale gold color with a transparent edge. The nose is perfumed with notes of lemon peel, white flowers and mild toasted caramel/toffee. The palate is brighter compared to other vinateges that tend to be buttery. Flavors of smoked orange, pear, green apple skin, caramel, and toasted wheat form the core. Finishes with hints of mineral salts and citrus. Drink now until 2022.

This was exceedingly quiet, in contrast to my expectations. No experience with this before this bottle, so I don't know if that is its true character, if it's shut down, or if it was mildly corked below my sensitivity threshold. Comes across as a timid expression of skin contact - enough to mute the fruit, but not so much as to develop the additional flavors, structure and texture one expects from a skin contact ferment. Tried it at a range of temperatures (fridge all the way through ambient room) and over the course of a couple hours in the decanter. I dunno. I drink a lot of skin contact whites, and this one leaves me puzzled. My gut tells me this bottle was not showing all this wine has in store, but YMMV. Would love to hear other's experience with this wine...

A fruitier style of Chablis. Lacks the steely notes I crave, but shows enough background flint and wet rocks to be recognizable. Quite charming, actually, for $19.

I pulled this thinking it would be losing its freshness at 7 yrs old, but nothing like. Ready now but showing no signs of decline. Thick, rich, and delicious. A little hint of cinnamon, beautiful acid just offsetting the fruit. This is as good as my prior best Chardonnay ever, a Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet from the 1980s. Wish I had more.

Light straw colored, steely, tight, light boded wine
Some lime zest off the nose, nutty, oyster shells
Astringent with an aggressive bite, with a medium finish. Good acidity
Excellent QPR. DON'T like the twist top.

Stock up on this little gem. Drinking now, probably wont get much better

A very aromatic Chablis. Concentrated and great wine, by any means. A bit too characterized by barrique fermentation, which is typical for the Raveneau wines.

The wine is popped and poured after chilling. At four years of age, the wine pours a golden straw color, almost like a crisp pale bourbon whisky. On the nose, the wine yields a concentrated, floral bouquet of honeysuckles, lemons, pot de creme, sugarcane and mint. The wine shows the strength of alcohol on the palate. Nevertheless, the wine is very smooth and flows down the throat with considerable ease, balance, poise and minerality. Flavors of vanilla, citrus, peaches, clarified butter and mint. Finish is quite long and the acidity quite low. Very flavorful wine with moderate sweetness and great freshness despite the richness in the juice. Top class.

(Degorged fall of 2014) Light yellow colour with a youthful nose showing hazelnuts, mierals and citrus. Youthfully austere but with a wonderful creamy mousse showing a nice fresh fruity mid-palate and with an intensive but rather short finish. Best with 2-4 years extra cellaring.

In line with recent bottles. Pale to mid straw. Bright, fresh, nicely mineral with good line. Some mid-palate weight but nothing overblown. Pleasing line and minerality for the vintage. Very decent. ***

In perfect shape right now. Screwcap, believe it or not. The white '07 Burgs continue to impress me. Exotic fruit on the nose, white flowers, fresh butter, integrated oak, a core of steely acidity. Long, perfectly balanced, rich yet refreshing, everything I look for in a Puligny. Drink or keep.

Very ripe Chardonnay notes, bouquet and palate are chock full of fully ripened greengage, peach, and cinnamon. Back up by a good dollop of wet stones and integrated oak. Drinks like a very mature BdB that has lost its mousse. On its last legs, but not unattractive. Drink now.

Great clarity of fruit, tension and cut. Just as impressive as the last bottle opened a couple of years ago, this is classic Chablis of Grand Cru quality. There is so much going on in the glass but there's this deep impression of clay and oyster shells that penetrates both the nose and palate. The fruit is clear and focused lime and citrus and the acidity is piercing. Fantastic bottle of wine with many years left to please.

Clean nose, pear, green apple, lemon peel. Palate clean as well but bright, CA style, nice crispness at first but then rounds out on second taste. Butterscotch, apple, citrus juice, vanilla. Nice acidity for the style, definitely a New World wine though. Doesn't really do anything to separate from others in the category.

Vino meraviglioso
