9/10/2012 - johneagle wrote: 92 pointsThis is getting very good now. A point or two off because it still has that slight GPL coarseness, but is a delightful drink. Double decanted at 6.30 and continues to come on at 9pm. Needs plenty of air. Tannins a bit green for my taste, and overpower the fruit a little, but I'm being picky - this is a very good glass of claret just approaching readiness. Give it lots of time in a decanter - 3 hours +. I tasted the last glass after 4 hours and this was as good as it is going to get. DO NOT POP AND POUR! |

9/2/2012 - johneagle wrote: 79 pointsDark yellow, and begining to maderise - not sour but not entirely what I expected. Far from being as good as it was when last tasted late in 2011. I wonder why this wine has not held up better. Cork was fine. Very disappointing, especially as it was offered in return for 2 bottles of Dow 83, which is now quite a good drink. |

8/14/2012 - johneagle wrote: 90 pointsA very good example. Lemon predominates, but it's long and full of secondary flavours. Rather better than my Carbonnieux 2007, though I haven't had one of those for several months. |

8/12/2012 - johneagle wrote: NRI opened a bottle of this just to see where it had got to, and will not be opening another for two or three years. It started with negligible nose and quite acidic, so I put it into a decanter and left it for 3 hours, after which it had filled out and was becoming something recognisable. I have memories of the 2001 which was stupendous; this will be nothing like that but with time, decanting and not being too cold may be a decent drink. Too early to rate it. |

8/8/2012 - johneagle wrote: 93 pointsDrank one on my own at the Sole Meuniere in Calais with, unsurprisingly, a sole meuniere. I wasn't expecting such a terrific bottle. What a testament for the need to keep well made white burgundy for a while. Still lots of lemon zest zing and plenty of ripe fruit behind it. Very good indeed for Euro 36 in a restaurant |

8/10/2012 - johneagle wrote: 90 pointsSad that this was the last one. On opening, a great wave of fruit. Over the evening (thankfully I wasn't sharing it) deeper and richer notes. This is a very good wine for the money, but would I buy more now to drink later? I think not. Farewell Bruciato 07! |

I have drunk a couple of dozen of this so far this year and, whilst this is a berfectly adequate summer drink, I find it rather one dimensional and overlry sweet. Maybe I am biased because I see it being pushed by someone whose opinion I think is pedestrian. OK but ordinary. Plenty of better fish in the sea! |
