Peach, tropical fruits, florals, citrus, mineral lurking/skulking but present. Body, weight. Excellent length. Certainly more tropical flavour profile than recent vintages.

Sweet berries. Currants. Some bay leaf and dust, olives. Fine grained tannin scaffolding very well integrated. Ample finish. The most serious cab I think I've had for the price, and one of the tastiest.

As per the label ripe berries, plum, mocha, vanilla oak. Some silty tannin, balance fine, moderate finish. Not challenging or stimulating but a very good quaffer. Night two: not so good.

As per the label stone fruits, citrus, spicy oak. To which I'd add by way of fleshing out my impressions pineapple, grapefruit, some cashew. Moderate length. Note and score for second night. First night didn't show so well, finish marred by pretty harsh acidity, which settled down overnight. From past experience I know these Metricup Road chards show best 3+ years from vintage, for my tastes, so this one was a tad young to open.

Blossom, honey, baked apple, citrus. Soft acidity. More open again than last years bottle. One bottle remaining, give it at least a couple of years. Doubt it'll blow anyone's socks off but it's an excellent aged riesling.

Superb. Mostly a gob full of blackberry jam and earth. Tannins not too strict, just right. Excellent balance and ample finish. Almost 4 years after the previous bottle, venison stew again. Can't see this getting much better but will wait a couple of years before attacking my final bottle, see where it goes.

Pleasantly surprised by this. As per the label cherry, raspberry, fine tannin. Also forest floor notes and spice. Nicely balanced. Length more than adequate. Really good to drink. Just a tad too light to be 90.... not dilute, but definitely light.

Took five hours of air to (almost) lose a slight sour touch and show well. Cherry, plums. Grippy tannin surfaced eventually. Strange bottle compared to others that I enjoyed more a year and two years ago. The bottle or a phase? Difficult to score tonight.

Chocolatey berried goodness with satisfying structure. Yum. Moreish. In the zone now, may not have peaked yet, will probably peak in the next five years but won't fall over in a hurry after that.

Again this year the back label note is pretty spot on. Blackberry, sage, lavender, cedar. Drying velvet tannins, pleasing fresh wash of acidity, plenty of length. Importantly at this price point, supremely smashable, especially the second half of the bottle on the second night. But better than its price point. At less than $12 discounted, simply ridiculous.

Black cherry and other black fruits. Touches of appealing jubiness and black pepper. Powdery tannin and acid balanced just right. Finish adequate and as such the only thing holding this back from a higher score, everything else really good on this one. Night two: Raspberry comes out to play, aniseed. The light structure has melted away some to be even lighter.

Nectarine, almonds, citrus, lots more. Body, texture, balance, length. Great to drink. Enjoyed this bottle over five hours, each subsequent glass had more going for it than the one previous. So I think this is likely to improve with more cellar time. Score for final glass.

Tinned pear and honeysuckle. Body and a nice line of acid. Lengthy finish. Pleasantly surprised by this. A Kiwi Gris, loud. Have seen another vintage of this described as Gris for Savvy drinkers, and in terms of loudness that's a fair call, but thankfully on a more enjoyable portion of the fruit spectrum for my tastes.

Irresistibly ripely fruited. Great to drink. Plums, currants, dark chocolate. Blackcurrant. Dried leaf though is it gum or bay? Full bodied, fleshy, minimal structure, fine silty tannins. Balance spot on, finishes long. Shiraz flesh on stricter cabernet backbone is how it seemed to me at times, unusual for a cab shiraz blend that the components seem so distinct. I like this best of any Scribbler vintage that I've tried.

First sniff mulberry and dust, so immediately in my good books. To taste, at ten years old, comes across as a youthful MR cabernet of restrained, controlled power. Blackcurrant, red berries, dark chocolate. Graphite, a touch of mint, maybe spearmint, also with air a touch of capsicum. Black tea like tannins, lots of. Balanced well enough, though sometimes the acid sticks out. Finish is impressively long. So, many elements of this wine are outstanding, but somehow it doesn't flow from start to finish as an outstanding wine. Not quite the sum of its parts. Maybe in time. Tasted over six hours, so gave it a fair chance tonight. To be truthful that first sniff was my favourite moment.

In short, classic South Australian shiraz. Plums, some raspberry, milk chocolate, twist of pepper. Dark and brooding savoury elements lurking underneath hold great promise for the future, but worth cracking one open now for my tastes. Dusty tannin, well balanced by fresh acidity, alcohol at 14.5% but doesn't stick out. Length more than ample. Probably being a points miser here. Great stuff.

Blueberry, cherry, white pepper, peanuts, spice. Balance, freshness, length. Doubtless lots more going on, but the wife and I smashed through this bottle faster than any other in memory, drinking not thinking. Wasn't in that mood when I opened the bottle, but the wine pretty much dictated that approach. Fabulous to drink.
