Beautifully aged Modern Classic.bacon fat, smoke and black pepper prevail. Black fruit and banana skin still present, lurkin' in the background, like a testimony of winemaking in the late nineties. Not at all heavy or obtrusive, great balance. Pure pleasure. Drank the bottle over 5 days... Was holding up great.

Spicy nose of cigar, blackcurrants and forestfloor. But also quite vegetal, maybe herbaceous. Definately traditional in personality. Still pretty vivacious, fresh, good acidic backbone. Cab Franc is in the lead here.

Warm, powerful, modern wine, well-crafted along the easy-to-like lines of the nowadays. Lots of sap, ultra-soft tannines, black cherry, coffee, chocolate, sweet tobacco, earl grey tea. Soft, carressing and velvety, yet containing lots of hidden power. To me this somehow feels like a 'designer-wine', composed in the cellar, very clean and safe. It therefore lacks some footprint and typicité. But hey, that's nitpicking. It's delicious!

Tiglio Rosso (Green Label) 2009: Deep, mesmerizing, nose of red berried fruit, cinnamon, milk chocolate, cappuccino, and wild flowers. On the palate this is very elegant yet quite powerful. Wonderful evolution during the evening. A sip reveals cherry juice, plum skins, vanilla, great acidity and ditto balance. Has a very nice, cool climate personality. It's approachable now, but certainly has cellar potential too. Superb.

Lovely wine, still bright, young and energetic. Nose is dominated by Cab Franc notes, grilled bellpepper, grilled herbs, plums and blueberries. On the palate surprisingly fresh, wonderful acidic backbone, juicy forestfruit. Perfect use of oak, very supportive. Chalky tannines, medium to full-bodied. Very very good!

Typical NW SB. Creamy mouthfeel, fruity freshness, fairly long and well-defined. Huge gooseberry component, chip in some pear and melon. Not sure if I picked up some minerality. Very nice, well composed, clean. Still seems pretty young to me.

This is still very enjoyable after all these years. Elegant, fragrant nose of dried flowers, spices, cranberries, old barrels and rosehips. Surprisingly sweet entry, vivd red fruitmidpalate, only a touch of ironlike acidity on the end. This 70er is mature, not old! ;-)

Such a luxurious wine, really one-of-a-kind. Honey glazed pastry, deep tropical nuances, vanillapods, camphor, Grand Marnier, apricot and papaya. Surprisingly soft, suave and sensual. Low in acidity yet very persistent, well-balanced and complex. Unctuous, fatty, and delicious, kinda like a juicy lobster. Get it?

Man, do I love autumn... And this wine really breathes the good/food life of the season. Dark, leafy, gamey, big luscious fruit core, spicy oak, coffe beans, bitter chocolate, heartwarming and comfortable. Genuine diner-table-stuff. Doesn't matter if you call it beefstew, brasato, Schmortopf or daube.. THIS is the wine to pour!

Even better on day 3!! Left half a bottle in the fridge. Tannines have softened, fruit is more prominent and darker in aspect. Up 1 point.

Quite a bit fresher than I remember my last bottle, which was more rustic, oxidative, nutty, slightly Rhone-like. This one is more mineral, wet wool, paraffine, pepper, spice, lemon-oil, Chenin-ish. Nice wine, needs food.
