Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chardonnay more

Decanted for two hours, then drunk leisurely over two more. As indicated in other notes, a beautiful wine, that's still too tightly coiled. Should have listened to Mr. Holmes. Hard to tell if this ultimately will be the superstar that folks expect. It will be very good, but exulted?

Very nice wine. A touch reticent on the nose, but delicious. I'd drink some of these now if you have them.

Very 2003, ripe, hot, and for my taste not great. Hard to tell on some of these 03's whether time will prevail, or we will wait until the end of time. On the other hand, my two friends, very experienced burg folks, quite liked it.

Initially a stemminess. We decanted for two hours, and drank over an hour. This really developed, and was a really nice drink. Dujac's 09 Eche may be my favorite since 99.

Simply a beautiful bottle of wine. Nose, palate, enjoyment, this had it all. One bottle left and I'm already looking forward to it.

1969 and 1986 Cali Lunch: A relative youngster. Cedar, green, elegant, balanced. Just a touch short on the finish. A very good wine. According to our host, this was the first Cali Cab that retailed for $100, which apparently Al Bronstein was quite proud of.

1969 and 1986 Cali Lunch: Less of the "house" style in this 86. Youthful. I love Heitz, and this bottle was in great shape, but this was somewhat uninspiring.

1969 and 1986 Cali Lunch: Old stories have it that the grapes were from Hanzell for the 69 Heitz Pinot. This was deep and rich, and still holding on to its fruit. Brown sugar, nice nose, beautiful palate. Almost laughable how good this was.

Very good juice. This will be better served with some additional age, but like many 08's it is approachable now with a few hours of air (quite a few is better). Drink or hold, either way you'll be happy.
