Perfumed red berry nose. Copious restrained red fruit on the palate, some spice, good balance, lots of baby fat. Enjoyable now, this will be even better with time, say 2-3 years. I really enjoyed this despite its youth.

Elegant spiced Gevrey nose. Dark refined fruit on the palate, berries, kir, glycerine, a touch of wood, ore, earth, some meat. Pretty good concentration and length. Grand Cru complexity and depth. Good stuff here, drinking well now, no rush. Decanted and consumed over two hours or so.

Decanted about 6 hours before tasting. Big ripe red berry nose, just a bit confected. Medicinal dark red fruit, hints of wood, some spice. Excellent concentration and length. A bit backward yet. I'll wait another 2-3 years before again opening another bottle. This needs a little more time to shed a bit of its awkward austerity. A good drink, good cellar potential. Probably not worthy of its price tag, however.

Decanted. Fading red-purple in color. Intoxicating nose, with aromas of fresh flowers, rose petals, iron, fennel, black pepper, raspberry and blackberry. On the palate, there are flavors of dark berry, plum, grape jelly, some brine. Very Gibourg in style, especially on the nose. Classy juice, in a great place, singing. Likely will hold for a bit, can't see this improving much, so I'd definitely be drinking up now before it goes tertiary. Single orphan bottle in the cellar, wish I had more but what can you do.

Decanted and consumed over about four hours. Significant bricking. Sous bois, a touch of sherry, dried fruit nose. Wet leaves, more sous bois, dark ripe stone fruit on the palate. Tertiary. Better with some air and with food. Waited for some fireworks that never quite arrived. Mature burg. Drink up.

Yep, baby Bonnes Mares. Youthful, energetic ripe plum, some secondary earthy notes, well balanced. Good length. Still some resolving tannins. Pensive, enjoyable juice. No rush to drink here. Better certainly with food. This needed air and was better with time. Decanted and consumed over about four hours.

Whoa, this is still coiled up tight despite decanting. The nose gives up some spice and dark fruit, but this is tannic and austere on the palate. Some ripe plum and black berry notes on the palate emerge with time, but this is out of balance and a just backward and dumb today. Certainly Vosne in character, but this needs some serious sleep. Tasted over three days. I'd give this another 3-5 years before again tasting.

This came off as wicked primary and fruit forward this evening. Clearly Burgundy but fruit fruit and more fruit. Had some tough acts preceding, so maybe that was part of the issue. Hold or decant.

Two bottles consumed, both showed similar. Vinous soft red berry and chalk. Lovely. Needed some air, best out of a Zalto Universal. May 2014 disgorgement.

We drank the '05 followed by the '08. The 2005 was singing -- white and yellow orchard fruit, layered and complex and a bit feminine. By contrast, the 2008 was drinking big -- similar fruit profile but concentrated and brimming with tannin and extract with a honeysuckle note as well. I think I preferred the '08 this evening based on its full-throttled power. The 2004 was opened first but was premoxed.

Last tasted about two years ago. Little evolution. This has not put on any weight. Lean, acidic, cranberry, pink grapefruit. Comes off as underripe. Not my style. The '09 and '10 vintages of this village wine are not surprisingly much more enjoyable.

Last tasted a little over two years ago. This is transparent red in the glass, with aromas of dark red Gevrey fruit and a hint of barnyard funk. On the palate, there is more dark red berry flavor that is long and so well balanced, very Gevrey in character. So refined. Brilliant. Shows that certain village wines can age so well despite the vintage. A top red burg of the year for me despite its level. This easily transcends its hierarchy by leaps and bounds.

This is the May 2014 disgorgement. It's all there -- wow -- but this just finishes way short. Abruptly short. Kept waiting -- but no can do. Opened up a bit with aggressive swirling in a Zalto Universal -- but just falls short. Second bottle tasted over the past few weeks, consistent finish. Guess needs to slumber in the cold for a while.

Tremendous. I've backed off the non dose/100% Pinot thing, but have a few back vintages of this wine in the cellar -- thought I'd give this a whirl this evening. This is WOW wine. Surprisingly, some noticeable ullage. Berry, toast, brioche nose: seemless red berry candy vinous palate. Caressing bubbles. Soft, balanced, cerebral. More of a quaffer as there is little sugar here. Better with air and at a warmer temperature. Much more enjoyable from a Zalto Universal than a Zalto Champagne glass, no surprise. Probably worth it to cellar some of the higher end Bouchard wines and see what happens. Now curious to try the other vintages of this wine remaining in the cellar. Bottle age is indeed kind to these wines. First of two bottles purchased June 2010, sleeping in the cellar since that time.

Last tasted a year ago almost to the day. Ripe dark fruit on the nose, just a bit confected. This is dense and grapey on the palate, but now this is showing more Burgundian than New World compared to prior tastings of this wine. Long on the palate, balancing out. Now its terroir is apparent. This should age well over the next 3-5 years. Lovely for its level. I think so many of these '09s have serious potential once their fruit starts to fade.

Dark red translucent in the glass. On the nose, there is some pleasant barnyard funk, hints of spice, and subdued dark berry and stone fruit. This is surprisingly soft on the palate, less weight than expected, nicely balanced, very Gevrey in character -- fruit, soil, some tobacco. Comes across as mature -- will likely hold for a bit, but I don't see this putting on any more weight or gaining much more complexity. Easy. I enjoyed this. Decanted and consumed over about two or so hours. Last tasted about 18 months ago. Half way through a case.

Purchased in 2009, has been sleeping undisturbed in the cellar since that time. Transparent dark red in the glass, aromas of sweet dark berry, perfume, violets, and earth. On the palate, the ripe but restrained fruit is so elegant and feminine for NSG, but it does speak of its terroir with hints of sauvage and beef broth -- certainly this would not get mistaken as Vosne in this vintage despite its proximity. Finishes just a bit herbaceous and medicinal, but now I am being overly critical. The sisters have the touch. Decanted and tasted over about three hours. Drinking well now. First bottle from a six pack.

Beautiful and vinous. Came off as a bit mature compared to the '95 Heidsieck BdM, but that's no surprise. Would have guessed that there was a dollop of Pinot in this had I been served blind. Drinking well. I wouldn't cellar this one too much longer.
