At the winery: Excellent minerality, dry, crisp, good medium long finish, quite intense for a light wine, dry citrus peel, but not aggressively acidic; perfect amount of low spritz; THE perfect aperitif wine or with light seafood/appetizers.

Amazingly fresh, crisp, dry chalk/rocky minerality, touch of saline with a fresh ripe wild strawberry note--all in a light spritzy package. Concentrated in the finish--just right, beautiful light bubbly--one of the best on the market. A must-try for the summer on the patio.

Paler, "dirty" salmon color; subtle notes of salt, hay, light red berries; elegant body, reserved, but elegant and complex with a moderately long finish. Love this understated character--would like to try the other bottlings to see if they show a bit stronger.

Very well balanced; don't have notes or good memory of this but this was inbetween the Terre de Vertus and the V.V.Cramant in character and weight, "more powerful than the Terre and more elegant than Cramant". 1st vintage of this wine.

Sort of the polar opposite of the Terre de Vetus--with richer, apple tart notes, dusty Cinnamon, good minerals although more in the background than with the Terre, fuller body, darker color, as it should be going from 1er cru to GC fruit I suppose. But to me it the flavors seemed to dissipate a bit quicker ans it lost some verve rather quickly. could "chalk" it up to the vintage going from the Terre '08 to this '09. Very nice, would like to try the '08.

Very aromatic with pine needles, earthy-limestony-yeasty apple skins, slight caramelized note of some kind--maybe more herbal in character--really cool unique smells; laser-like acidity, crisp, with intense minerality, chalky-rocky notes, long finish. intense and dry, may be a bit too much at this point in time but would live to see it mellow out just a bit and try in 2-3 years or more.

Pale pink, rather light subdued nose, delicate floral notes with light red berries. Clean, reserved, pretty. Good starter in a flight of 8 Champagnes.

Powerful, intense fruits of dried apple, lemon-lime, slight darker yellow with tiny hint of rouge in there (pinot showing through like a BdN). Not a wall flower, good food champagne.

Darker yellow with gold hues; haunting aromas of yeast, wheat bread, bruised apple, ginger, sort of exotic, but also slight funky-yeasty notes. Mouth was stunning with excellent concentration, very intense, but also light on its feet and fine as well, with fine creamy bubbles. Great balance from start to finish, tremendously long finish. From what I read I thought this was going to be closed, needed to age another few years, or decant, but not even close. It is very exuberant and generous right now. I Let it breathe in the glass for 20-30 minutes and none for the worse. Reminded me of the first time I had Krug--rich and powerful and palate staining. Awesome stuff. I will get this again.

Medium dark yellow with slight green flecs; Lovely fruit melange of melon, nectarine, yellow cherry, slight juicy-fruit note but not sweet; rich body without being creamy, wet rock minerality, great depth and structure, soft and easy but lifted as well with good acidity. Serious Verdicchio, really enjoyed this. With grilled pork skewers and onions.

Bit more spice compared to the '09, more red fruit driven, seemed like maybe scorched berries as it was a bit more cooked, more present tannins, slight sour acidity, hot finish, in short, less balanced. Doesn't hold a candle to the '09. I was told it was a very erratic year.

Hugely floral, heady, with sweet spices, cigar box, licorice, stewed plum, black berry/black fruits but not "dark"; a good sense of minerality, with well-integrated oak-subtle pie crust notes; incredibly silky, ripe, extracted but light on its feet, not weighty at all. Smooth moderate tannins, balanced acid, very impressive. 14 mo. Am/Fr Oak.

What a surprise for an '02; really nice place right now with dusty earthy leather, truffle, classic perfumy left bank cab nose; medium weight, balanced, very even moderate tannins, tertiary notes poking through. Lovely and drinking very well now, and should hold for a few years more. Had it next to the '09 and preferred this, at least for now.

Tight as a drum, and a bit too cold; as it warmed up it showed lots of rocky minerality, lemon and underripe peach, melon rind; exceptionally acidic, a bit sharp right now. Opened up nicely but still a bit austere, vanilla oak/pie crust showing up a bit--not quite integrated. This needs time but has good bones.

Quite bretty with barnyardy, funky, animale/worn leather notes, along with soft macerated stewed dark fruits; medium soft and lightly chewy, lower acid at this point, easy going, structure seems to have faded a bit, but grew on me with the Korean ribs and a hot summer night outside.
