Dark and dense unfiltered color. Complex and exiting nose. Barnyard and hay, vanilla and metal/blood. Palate is full of fresh fruits, lots of power and hints of lemon. Very good wine, and actually better than the Flavio Roddolo Barbera 2006 tasted against it.

Tasted blind. Ruby red dark dense and crystal clear color. Nose is dominated by Bordeaux-characteristics with barnyard, cigar, dust and tobacco. There is also dark and lively fruit in there. Palate is powerful, strong and good with lots of fruit and finesse. Well balanced. I was guessing Roddolo here, and that is a compliment. A good wine.

Deep golden straw colour. Nose gives me lots of delightful pineapple, pear, cantaloupe melon, minerals, newly mowed lawn and celeriac. Taste is full and lovely. Lots of acidity and minerality, but perhaps slightly disappointing length and complexity. I think this wine is overrated here on CT.

Decanted 1 hour. Nose is powerful and with a slight animal note. Palate is silky, balanced and powerful. Wonderful and delightful hedonistic bliss. Lots of fruit but the keyword is balance, balance and balance. I'm drinking liquid velvet! This is my second 2012 Mortet and I am confident this vintage is one of Arnauds best. His young wines have never tasted this good before. I cannot wait to follow them over the next 10 years. Buy all the Mortet '12 you can get your hands on, friends!

Dark, dense crystal clear crimson red. Slightly purple. Nose has a lot of fruit, a slight green tinge of the vintage, some blackberries and white pepper. Palate is fresh, young, light and succulent. Power and lots of fruit. This is not a powerbomb but has a lot of elegant balance. I think the difficult vintage has turned this wine into a pinot-like substance. Wonderful!

Light straw yellow. Clear. Medium intensity. Nose is of medium intensity and contains pineapple, rhubarb and fresh grass. Slightly oaky with hints of vanilla and subtle nuances of toffee. Cloudberries and lemons. Palate has low to medium power and concentration. Too acidic and therefore unbalanced. Lemons are dominant on the palate. Added acidity?

Not fantastic, have tasted much more enjoyable BB's from 2011. Thomas Morey, Etienne Sauzet and Roulot comes to mind. Buy something else.

Vanilla and marzipan nose intertwined with apples, cherries and leather. Sour candy and slightly herbal notes. Palate is powerful and very good, but compared to the magnificient 2012 this one shows a bit too much of its vintage. Not green in any way, but there are some notes of magnolia and christmas spices that seems to be a mantra throughout this vintage in most burghs I've tasted. In this case it falls a bit through. Still an extremely good wine, though. I love this producer.

Pop and pour. Intense fruit right from the start. Compared to the 2007 and 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin from the same producer this one gives the most immediate joy. Fruit and immense power both on the start of the palate and throughout the end. It has a bit of a one track mind right now, with mostly tons of fruit. More power than the other wines, but perhaps not as much finesse as the 2012 GC. All in all a fabulous wine... Will go on for years.

Pop and pour. This is ultimate joy! There is an immediate coolness and delight to the palate. Compared to the 2012 of the same wine this one shows a bit of age, and perhaps a tad less intensity and power. Lots of fruit, spiced and mintyness here too, but more of the smooth muddy kind instead of the razorsharp all-consuming kind of the 2012. But besides that fact, the wine has aged charmfully, and shows the vintage perfectly. At its prime now. It will last for another 5 years at max, before the fruit will start to decline. But right now this is a fantastic wine. Loving it.

Purple-red color. Dark and dense. Nose is full, balanced and contains apples and some mint. Has a sweetness to it. Initially a bit oily, warm nose with alcohol. This turns after 15 minutes of air into a cold and delightful nose with tons of fruit and hnts of leather. Palate starts out a bit watery and bit less weight than expected. I've seen this before. It just needs air. And after 30 minutes it is singing! Exploding with fruit and spices immediately, Incredibly complex palate with cherries, apples, mint and power that turns into a neverending finish. But that is not the main thing about this wine. What strikes me most of all is the extreme purity of the whole taste experience. It is focused, vibrant and clear. A joy to drink.

Lots of CO2 and bubbles. Golden ripe wheat color. Nose is full of overripe garden apples. Very enjoyable nose which turns into a hint of grapefruit after a while. As it heats up, the alcohol shows a bit too much. It is obvious the wine shows best cold. Palate is easy, calm and balanced applefruit without the most intense and concentrated flavor. Light and likeable. A bit alcohol shows the same way as on the nose, increasingly as the wine heats up. Pretty good bone dry cider!

Light straw yellow color. Petroleum on the nose. A very strange and volatile scent, as if a bit faulty and waiting to blow away in the decanter. Taste is sweet and full and lovely and has an exquisite balance. This is thick and good. Apricots, peaches, strange and different and powerful palate.

After a couple of hours the strange and sharp note is gone from palate and nose. But I am not impressed. This wine has got scores on CT that I do not understand. Good, yes. But fantastic and earth-shattering? No. Not today and not for me. Would not buy again.

Still very young. This one has started to develop signs of aging on both the nose and the palate, but right now the whole wine has got a rustic note over it. The fruit is not as sweet and laidback as you would wish. It's hiding behind the tannins and a slight acidic tinge on the palate. A bit reserved and muted right now. Very balanced all in all but I get a strong sense of masculine village terroir here, together with an alltogether too young wine. Wait 3 years.
