1/14/2015 - winerd wrote: NRThe color is beautiful ruby. Hot on the nose with not much intensity of aroma: rock, stewed cherry, anise. Fresh acidity but the alcohol is out of balance. Dry tannins. Wet stone, garrigue, earth, cedar, cherry jam but not much fruit. This wine is out of balance. Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comments (2) |

1/10/2015 - winerd wrote: NRThe wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like forest floor, cherry and tobacco. Flavors of licorice on the palate with richness. Slightly hot, but not pronounced. The body is medium/full. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has high acidity. |

1/9/2012 - winerd Likes this wine: NRDark ruby, clear. Nose is lacking, tight, somewhat alcoholic ( could be my cold). Jammy, dark red fruits (bing cherries, tayberries, overripe stewed strawberries, dark plums and prunes); wood (cedar, toasty oak); garrigue herbaceousness on the palate. Tannic. |

1/8/2012 - winerd wrote: 82 pointsThis wine is a bit past it's expiry date. For the money, and if drunk in time, a very good value. Diesel, honey, pear, and the acid to back it up. This bottle somewhat oxidized. |

4/20/2008 - winerd wrote: 89 pointsBeautiful deep ruby-plum color, nearly opaque in center and very bright. Plum, blackcurrant, cherry, on nose, with vanilla-cedar, tobacco, and some herbal and violet notes. On the palate, very grippy and tight on opening. Tastes of cherry, blackberry, plum, black pepper, leather and some mint and fig. Needs more time in the bottle to smooth out. |

2/24/2008 - winerd wrote: 84 pointsThis is my first experience with this varietal and I found it to be like a cross between a sauvignon blanc and a riesling. On the nose is both citrus and hay. The mouthfeel is round and full with good acid. Lots of green apple and grapefruit on the palate. Nice finish of some grassiness. This is an easy sipper, good with Asian-inspired cuisine (star anise, white pepper). Some sweetness on the palate though I don't believe there is residual sugar. An interesting wine. |
