I mean, let's be frank, the Simi wines of today are mediocre at best. At first sniff, I would have thought this was Pauillac with all of the tar, tobacco, earth, leather, currants, mulch, spice and richness. Huge amounts of sediment (about an inch off the bottom of the bottle needed to be poured out) but the was both a history lesson and a pleasure. I don't expect to find more bottles but the person who gave this to me got a very nice thank you today! |
