3/9/2021 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRMy favorite wine I've had this year. Such a joyous wine, like a sun beam through the window warming up your face. Very generous bright fruit with beautiful texture and finish. 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

3/9/2021 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRBaked apple with lees quality. Fairly concentrated flavors and a very persistent finish. Not my preferred style of Champagne but it was really good if you enjoy this style. |

3/9/2021 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRInitial taste in the morning very expressive/floral, strawberries and roses then leather and earth. Bright acid. By the evening the wine shut down hard. Give this wine more time! |

3/9/2021 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRRuby red with an exciting nose of metal/iron and black pepper. Tastes of a mixture of red and dark fruit with fresh cracked pepper. Lingering note of olive and rare beef. Medium density and texture. Balanced acid. Really enjoyed this one. |

3/9/2021 - Vietty wrote: NRRich, dense style of CA PN. Fruit in the dark spectrum, plum with some age notes coming through. YMMV but I think this style is better to drink young. |

1/11/2021 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRUnderneath the matchstick some pure yellow fruit. Good richness, nice texture/density. High quality finish with long persistence. Paired really well with the crab ravioli topped with white truffle. Just read Aagrawal's note: describes this wine much better than my note =) Do you find this review helpful? 1/11/2021 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRWife and I really enjoyed this one. The 2014 vintage of this wine we had a few years ago was our first white Burgundy epiphany. Although the 2014 was better in my memory, this wine didn't disappoint. Beautiful nose, richness contrasted with mineral notes and bright yellow fruit/acidity. High quality finish. |

2016 Domaine François Cotat Sancerre La Grande CôteSauvignon Blanc more |
1/11/2021 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRHad three bottles over the past couple of months and consistent. A distinctive Sancerre, perfumed nose of white flowers with lychee (without the sweetness). Dry and nice acidity. Went great with scallops. |

1/11/2021 - Vietty wrote: NRThis was a weird wine. Blind I don't know if I would call PN. Interesting that my wife and friend both said "guava" while I interpreted the wine as red fruit with some papaya notes. Funky and was fun to try but I'm not buying any more of these. |

1/11/2021 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRWas expecting a more plump luscious style but I was surprised at the relative balance. Dense dark fruit but enjoyed the tobacco/cab notes, with light mocha dusting. Nice integration of oak and a round/high quality finish. |

1/11/2021 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRMuch more open than the 08 we had a couple of months ago. White flowers, yellow fruit, a bit of toast. Prefer the pure fruit in the 08 but this bottle was easier to enjoy at this time. |

12/24/2020 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRVery tight at the moment. Even when I got to the last couple of ounces of this bottle and thought I finally got to the point where the wine was revealing itself, it was very shy and played hide and seek with me. |

2015 Château Les Carmes Haut-BrionPessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend more |
11/18/2020 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRSame bottle as Curtis. Perfumed nose of dark fruit with violet/lavender. On the palate, dark purple/blue fruit with a bit of chocolate. Silky texured wine. Nice hit of acidity framing everything and providing most of the structure since I didn't get much of a tannic kick. Very suprised at how well this was drinking at this young age. In summary, a modern twist on Bordeaux. Enjoyed/liked but did not love it. Poured the last 4 ounces into a vial and revisted on day 3: the nose was less expressive, the fruid settled down and very subtle interesting note of stone underneath (don't ask me what kind of stone lol). 2 people found this helpful, do you? 2011 Giacomo Borgogno & Figli No NameLanghe DOC Nebbiolo more |
11/8/2020 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRYoung Nebbiolo color: ruby with the tinge of orange. Aromatic nose of red fruit/cherries, a pinch of spices/nutmeg, touch of earth/leather/creosote, and a light menthol flourish at the end. Taste matches the nose, satin texture, dense flavor but lifted with the aromatics and acid. Worked really well with the braised short rib papardelle tonight. Very easy to drink, and a wine that engages with both the nose and the tongue. It earned the uncommon second puncture from the Coravin tonight while I typed up this note. |

2006 Pierre Moncuit Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut MillésiméChardonnay more |
11/3/2020 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRSecond bottle and a better showing this time. A very generous champagne with expressive yellow fruit. Dosage is a touch evident but there/s acidity there to balance it. A crowd pleasing wine that's very easy to drink. |

2014 Cobb Pinot Noir Emmaline AnnSonoma Coast more |
11/3/2020 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRStarts with faint reductive notes, swirling reveals expressive nose of red fruit and red florals. Tastes of juicy medium red raspberry/cherry, orange zest. Digging deeper you can find some mild underbrush scents. Flavorful but elegant and light on it's feet. Good typicity for Sonoma Coast PN in my opinion. Maybe a bit pricey but enjoyed this bottle. Disagree with previous note, did not taste overt oak in my experience. Had to look up the technical info from the producer which states 22 month in barrel, 30% new French oak, 12.8% alcohol. |

NV Krug Champagne Brut Grande Cuvée Édition 168èmeChampagne Blend more |
11/3/2020 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRModerate reduction notes on the nose. With vigorous swirling the pure yellow fruit comes out, lemon curd but hard to tease out other subtle notes at this time. Mouth feel is zippy but then a caress of fine mousse bubbles. Hold or allow more air time if you choose to drink this now. |

2014 Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Bucher VineyardRussian River Valley more |
11/3/2020 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRReady for business, expressive nose and drinking well with dark red fruit with spice. A note I kept coming back to (and loved) was black tea in the nose and palate and even in the texture which was silky but then has that fine grained tannin texture/finish. I've seen that tasting note of black tea used before but this is the first time I was really struck by that description. Medium+ density, medium acid, long finish. Good typicity for RRV with high quality, fruit forward but not syrup. |

8/28/2020 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRElegant champagne with lemon/apple notes and hints of minerality. With time and warming up more complex notes emerge. Fine bubbles, high acid and long lasting finish. I thought it would be too high acid for the wife, but she gave it a thumbs up. |

8/28/2020 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRCC Blind Tasting #4: Strawberry and cherries on the nose and palate. Had an interesting spice note that I've tasted in Chateau Musar in the past, I guess that is called "funk"? Lighter texture but had a stronger tannin in the finish than expected. I initially thought Beaujolais but was thrown off with the tannin/finish. Then I went to thinking Oregon PN. In the end I didn't officially call a wine but I should have went with my gut instinct. A fun gulpable wine with some interesting notes in there for the geeks. |

8/28/2020 - Vietty Likes this wine: NRCC Blind Tasting #3: Color: medium density ruby color with tinge of purple, clear. Nose: violets, light pepper notes, youthful purple fruit. Taste: purple fruit, pepper, medium acid, medium texture, initially thought easy to drink but with repeated sips you can feel the tannin and acid build up. Called cool climate Syrah, felt like something missing so I didn't think it was Cote Rotie. When my friend revealed domestic I went straight to Halcon. |
