2011 Ledson Cabernet Franc Dry Creek Valley

As a fan of Ledson, such a great wine....prepped a meal of gourmet meal Chicago style hot dogs (those from Chicago understand) and I picked the right one. What a complement to the meal. Enough smoothness to balance the peppers, but enough structure to enhance the mustard, relish, extra celery salt, dill pickle. It was truly one of the best pairings I've made in quite some time. My review of hot dogs should not discount the true quality of this wine - Ledson knows how to do Cab Franc.

Very crisp chardonnay. Lots of citrus/lemon and apples. If you are looking for buttery/oaky, look elsewhere. I am sure first pour had a very slight effervescence to it? Like I said - crisp...but pleasant.

An interesting red...hints of a pinot, but more assertiveness. Characteristic cherry (and even some blackberry) from a Pinot, but more spice and acidity*

Very soft, especially for a "Big Red". Mostly black currant and blackberry but without the peppery notes I like in bolder reds. Seemed ready to drink now.

Not a memorable wine, but also not big on Chablis. Good citrus notes, very light body, subtle oak.

An impressive chardonnay, especially for the price. Minerals, citrus, peach. Balanced oakiness such that is pairs well with more delicate fare. But still enough of a finish to stand up nicely on it's own.

Good overall Pinot. A respected producer that cares about their wines. Would recommend drinking soon. Nose has strong strawberry and currant, with a hint of orange on the finish.

Nearing end of drinking window, but still a pleasurable Cab. Strong tobacco and blackberry, but not the nice, long finish I hope from Cabs...

Very rich blackberry tones with some leather notes. Actually think it could use a few more years in the bottle.

Very nice Pinot. Don't see it developing into a great wine, but definitely very good with a few more years to go. A little less body than other pinots I have had from the Gorge region.

A very well produced Pinot. Still a bit early and should develop some more complexity with time. Classic nose, and not an overwhelming cherry finish that some pinots deliver.

At this price point, a solid but not outstanding value. Very versatile on its own or with lighter fare. Simple minerals notes, clean finish - about what you would expect...

An impressive wine, especially at this price point. Great balance with a pleasant oaky-ness that doesn't overpower the beauty of a clean chardonnay. Nice mineral finish, almost like a sauvignon blanc. Recommended.

More citrus than floral. Tart but a nice finish. Given tartness, didn't match with Indian food. Probably a good match with fish or chicken that's not heavily/spicely prepared.
