Just a delicious, big old dark cherry fruit bomb with nice root complexity. Excellent QPR.

Not for the faint of oak, so break out those big ass Burgundy glasses and enjoy a sumptuous feast of butterscotch, pineapple, and too many other tropical friits to count. An excellent batch.

White peach, white grapefruit. More fruit than minerality but nicely balanced. Nothing not to like here.

As Valpolicellas go, I don’t know how you could rate anyone higher. It’s remarkable to the point that I would never in a million years identify this as a Valpolicella. It’s dry, chalky, red fruity, balanced, a perfect pairing with puttanesca or any number of other Italian dishes. And an outstanding QPR.

Really terrific all around. Ocean breeze on the nose gives way to a grassy Granny Smith apple orchard with some Meyer Lemon bushes thrown in for good measure. Super interesting. 6 minutes in Wake Up Wine.

Regal Crown Sour Red Cherry Candies R Us. Which is just fine for me, if maybe a bit too tart compared to the fruit. 10 minutes in Wake Up Wine. 89+ upped to a 90 based on QPR.

Nice, red fruity balance after much aeration, but lacks an underbelly. And it appears to be waning. Drink up.

Like a carbonated Lemon Head, in a good way. An interesting take on Sauv Blanc, which alone is cause for celebration.

Luscious. Beautiful deep golden hue, almost like a Sauterne; oaky (thank God for big ass, big-bowled glasses); Meyer lemon, tropical fruits; butterscotch, Kerry Gold butter creamy, a little hay. But the lusciousness sets it apart.

TIGHT! But when it opens after 13-14 minutes of aeration in WUW, it’s glorious. Big, ripe red cherries, perfect acid, and well-balanced. Nothing complex here. A hard fastball straight down the middle of the plate, and that’s enough.

Well-made. Slight sweetness enhanced by the roasted garlic tomato soup we had, but not cloying; strawberry predominates with secondary red cherry and raspberry components. Surprisingly tight; required 8 minutes aeration in WUW to bring out the fruit. Good acid and balance, and quite tasty.

2014 Sandhi Wines Pinot Noir Rinconada

4/8/2021 - Pipcelot Likes this wine: 92 points

Opened up after 7 minutes in WUW. An excellent poster child for the Rinconada Vineyard if that's your preferred flavor profile (its' not exactly mine): rhubarb-raspberry-red cherry with a touch of limestone. Good acid, good fruit, well balanced. Excellent QPR from LB: a virtually identical twin to the Sanford Rinconada at less than half the cost.
