Solid performance. Tropical and light. Marked by the vintage and a bit rough-edged. Enjoyed previous bottles more. Still good value.

Gorgeous appearance, dark and dirty orange. The nose is very powerful and deep, I could smell this forever. Caramel, dried apricot, raisin, almond, chocolate, smoke, orange peel, fine whisky from the best sherry casks you can imagine. And much more. The palate is intense with feisty dry tannins and lively acidity. Same notes with a fun twist of pommac at the end. Stunning. Be sure to keep your leftovers in room temperature, the fridge will most definitely ruin it.

Beautifully balanced. The acididity gives energy to the wine and plays down the sweetness. Green fruit such as pear and apple, also some lime. After 15 minutes in the glass more tropical and gets more powerful during the evening. Very young, of course, but really good and accessible. Long aftertaste.

Dark cherries, a dash of sweet strawberries, undergrowth, rosehip and dark chocolate. Elegant and refined. Solid attack on the palate, fine, young grainy tannins that needs a couple of years to settle down. Same notes on the palate with a hint of spice in the aftertaste. Elegant and burgundian interpretation as always with this producer. Next to food this is approachable now but will develop steadily for many years.

Deep yellow, oily texture. Bursts with tropical fruits, sweet and exotic. Vanilla and a tiny bit of grass in the background. A very compelling, yet simple and straight forward, nose. Nicely balanced acidity on the palate and some liquorice in the aftertaste. Highly drinkable and the qpr is just insane at €11.

Mature cherries, strawberries, rosehip, rose petals and undergrowth. Stunning nose with hints of early maturity. Powerful palate with a young and powerful tanninstructure. This is without a doubt a very traditional Barolo and very true to it’s origin, and vintage. Approachable, and brilliant with food, but won’t show at it’s best for another ten years or so. Potential.

Dark berries, liquorice, vanilla, cola, bacon. Juicy and drinkable, soft acidity and medium long aftertaste. Not a big wine but very enjoyable and perfect to grilled meat. Lightly textured Syrah, for more serious expression with more aging potential look for the Les Voisins or the single vineyard bottlings, this is for unpretentious drinking the coming years.

Gorgeous look in the glass, dark red, crystal clear. Dark berries, overripe strawberries, sweet vanilla, roses, dark cherries, undergrowth, moist earth. Beautiful deep, complex nose you can smell for hours. Big palate, this is definitely a Pinot with muscle and power. Pretty, dark berries dominates together with the alcohol that sadly enough is quite evident in the aftertaste. This make the wine a bit too heavy imo and affect the energy in a negative way. Fine tannins with some maturity and a medium long aftertaste. All about preference here, the nose is just stunning but for me the palate tips over and gets too heated and heavy.

Energetic, mature and fresh strawberries dominates the nose. Funky undergrowth develops in the glass. Far from typical but there's definitely some hints of PN in there. Red fruit on the palate, very juicy and vin nature. Fiery acidity and a bit sharp on the edges for my taste, still enjoyable and highly drinkable. This bottle was clearly in a much better condition than the last one...

Yellow mature apples, walnuts, caramel, bread and butter. Elegant and on the same time flirtatious and generous. Light mousse that disappears quickly. Surprisingly much fruit on the palate together with caramel and bread. No sugar added although it feels kind of creamy and almost sweet in the aftertaste. Yellow apples, mango and caramel shining together with a dusty layered minerality. Perhaps a bit short aftertaste with an energetic zing of lemon sorbet. The drinkability is just through the roof and despite it's youth I think there's small fractions of early maturity in there, simply a wonderful Champagne from a very interesting producer. Highly recommended.

Cherries, dark chocolate, rosehip. This was seriously decanted for 8 hours + and still the wine continous to develop in the glass. This is very young and somewhat tight but with time the quality is there for everyone to see. Solid structure with young grippy juicy tannins, far from drying and definitely approachable. Rosehip and a pinch of green herbs and stem. Medium long aftertaste. Really good, great qpr.

Not much happening on the nose, almost closed. Creamy tropical fruit, vanilla, coconut and mature green pears. Elegant and mineral, as always with Dönnhoffs wines. Much more going on on the palate. Light, fresh and perfectly balanced sweetness. Mature pears and tropical fruit, vanilla and a dash of lemon. Laid back acidity keeps the fruit from being too heavy, the quality is evident. Long aftertaste that really closes the deal, fenomenal. Still very young but definitely approachable, grown up lemonade.
