12/4/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 95 pointsDecanted for 2 hrs. Awesome wine. Full of power and grace. Clare cabernet is such an underrated grape in that region. The other elements all work harmoniously. Quality oak used. Perfect cork. Could go another 5-8 years or longer if the cork allows. Great with herb crusted lamb rack. |

10/11/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 94 pointsFantastic wine as expected. Quick decant revealed red and black fruits, some spice and cloves as well as a hint of oak. It's a Barossa blockbuster no doubt, but in a restrained and refined way. High class. |

10/10/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 94 pointsClassy wine. Blackcurrants and blueberries on the nose with some nice French oak as well. Got better with more air so probably should have decanted. Reminded me a little of a high quality Coonawarra Shiraz. Delicious. |

10/7/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 92 pointsTop drop! Medium plus bodied with an almost beef stock or beefiness to it. Cassis and blackcurrant undertones. Perfect cork. |

9/24/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 90 pointsDrying tannins. Goes well with food. Medium to full bodied. Not much fruit which leads to a pencil shaving Cab Franc mouth feel. If you like that, you'll enjoy this. Not my particular preference of style but does alright at what it sets out to achieve. |

2007 Yalumba Shiraz Single Site RosenzweigBarossa Valley more |
9/19/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 91 pointsElegant in structure and feel. Nothing showy or overt about it. Well balance, red fruits, fine tannins. Nice wine, just not exceptional. The 2006 Single Site's are far better and will cellar for much longer. |

9/17/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis is my first taste of the 2010 after being very impressed by a 6 year old 2006. Not as dark as I thought it would have been but great red and black fruits, a little spice and licorice and a real swathering of tannins that coat all of the mouth. I think it will be even better on the 2nd night. Will keep my other two bottle for another couple of years before I crack them. Excellent value. I bought this for $AUD16 per bottle. |

9/17/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 91 pointsSmooth, deep colour and rich palate. Plenty of toasty oak on the nose but is very well integrated and doesn't poke out on the palate. Chocolate, blackberry, licorice. Just a top wine and QPR very high. |

9/13/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 96 pointsAmazing wine. Decanted for an hour. Deep, dark red with a gentle hue to show it's age. Mint and eucalyptus on the nose. Palate showed red and black berries, cedar and spice. Brilliant mix of fruit, acidity, oak and tannins. Perfectly balanced. Superb. |

9/8/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 92 pointsMeaty and earthy, this SGM is head and shoulders above most of the stuff I've tasted from the south of France. Beautiful ripe tannins and a nice lick of oak on the finish. Top class. |

8/26/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 88 pointsFirstly, what an ugly cork. Should have been under screwcap. Moving on from that I found this to be rather pleasant but uninspiring. Nothing that stands out that makes you go "wow, this is nice". Decent wine but there are so many better than this for the same price tag. Wouldn't buy again. |

8/25/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 94 pointsDecanted for an hour. Really lovely wine. Great colour and perfume of violets. Seamlessly interwoven fruit and oak. One thing that you really notice is the wine's grippy but elegant tannins and wonderful mouth feel. This still has years ahead of it. Pity it was my only bottle 😢 |

8/16/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 90 pointsBurnt toffee, thick, syrupy and unctuous. Wow. A little of this goes a long, long way. Only got through half a 375ml bottle between 3 of us. Better served a bit on the cooler side or over the top of some vanilla bean ice cream. |

8/16/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 90 pointsReally nice wine. Light on it's feet thank to the Carignan, great perfume of violets owing to the Grenache and enough body and structure to hold it all together with the Syrah. Licorice and spice and all things nice. Also, better with food. |

8/16/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 91 points12 drunk and not one of them corked despite some dodgy, highly stained corks. Pretty good drinking. Clarendon Hills should change to screwcaps though and their wines would last a lot longer than 10 years. |

7/27/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 90 pointsEasy drinking wine. Some red and black fruits. Definitely some cloves and Chinese five spice in there as well. Still showing youthful characteristics. Could easily go another 3-5+ years. |

7/17/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 94 pointsBlack fruits all the way. No hint of anything blue or red. It's as black as the ace of spades. Licorice, chocolate, mocha, spice, tar and mint intermingle with some nice oak. Tannins are long and fine. Impressive length and finish. |

7/15/2013 - WineChief Likes this wine: 89 pointsRipe, jammy. Very deep purple. Plenty of life and vibrancy. A real coffee/mocha taste on the palate that almost reminds me of South African Pinotage. Interesting. |
