Sadly a pop and pour. Aromas of blackberry, currant, mint, chocolate and touch of iron. Flavors of blackberry, black cherry, currant, chocolate and touch of olive. Ends with a long finish of 35-40 seconds with blackberry and mocha notes. This may improve through dinner so may update the note. These are always huge wines. Has a bit of a tannic bite still on this so wish I had enough time to decant.

Nose of salt, hint of raspberry and hint of lime. Would not exactly call this nose "jumping out of the glass." Flavors of cherry, strawberry and a touch of lime. Ends with a 10-15 second finish with a slight cherry note. Simple, easy drinking but can get that for half the price.

Pretty much a pop and pour. Aromas of brown sugar, sassafras, dried cherry, dried strawberry and touch of earth. Flavors of dried cherry, strawberry rhubarb, cranberry, anise and touch of brown sugar. Ends with a 25+ second finish with brown sugar notes. Touch a heat on this but a very nice Pinot.

Few wines at Tequila Revolucion (Tequila Revolucion): I decanted this for 4 hours before serving. Aromas of blackberry, currant, black cherry, plum and touch of iron. Flavors of cherry, currant, blackberry, grape and touch of earth. Ends with a large, long finish of 45+ seconds with blackberry notes. Had this last because it’s huge. It was an interesting evolution of styles, starting with the 04 Palmer, the 12 Dominus then this. I had this neck and neck with the Dominus. Schrader is always reliable to delivery a great wine drinking experience.

Few wines at Tequila Revolucion (Tequila Revolucion): Opened but not decanted at 3PM. Aromas of currant, blackberry, iron, mineral and cherry. Flavors of cherry, currant, blackberry, iron and earth. Ends with a long, long finish of 40+ seconds with blackberry and iron notes. This is still a baby and could have used a long decant. Tasting this after the Palmer was interesting because it wasn't all that different in style but just a bigger, better wine.

Few wines at Tequila Revolucion (Tequila Revolucion): This was decanted 2.5 hours before serving. Aromas of earth, blackberry, currant, black cherry and hint of smoke. Flavors of iron, earth, blackberry, currant and smoke. Ends with long iron and smoke driven finish of 30+ seconds. I liked this more than some of the other people. They complained it had no structure but I did not share that compliant. I will say that this still needs more time to come together in my opinion. A very solid wine from a less renown vintage.

Few wines at Tequila Revolucion (Tequila Revolucion): Aromas of sour apple, mineral, bread dough and slate. Flavors of slate, bread dough, splash of citrus, mineral and a lime note on the finish that goes on for 35+ seconds. Totally different style of wine from the Dom. This had much more weight to it and was expansive on the palate. The Dom was more edgy and crisp. The Cristal is a very exquisite wine for sure.

Few wines at Tequila Revolucion (Tequila Revolucion): Aromas of slate, lime, mineral and hint of nut. Flavors of lime, slate, some citrus note I can’t identity and mineral. Ends with a long finish of 25-30 seconds with mineral notes. Not creamy but mineral driven with citrus notes. A very nice Dom but nothing like the 2002, my favorite recent vintage.

It’s not bad. Just sour. I ended up dumping this wine because I just could not finish it. The Scholium Project wines I have had are very hit or miss. The one thing I will say though is that the guy likes to push the envelop and whether I like them or not, they are interesting to try.

Basically a pop and pour. Aromas of boysenberry, wild cherry, blueberry, cracked pepper and touch of tomato leaf. Flavors of boysenberry, blueberry, cherry, raspberry and touch of currant. Ends with a 25 second finish with boysenberry berry notes. This is lighter on its feet than your typical Carlisle but still packs a lot of fruit. Crazy value for 21.99.

Slow oxed for 4 hours. Aromas of cranberry, strawberry, mushroom and cherry. Flavors of strawberry, cranberry, maraschino cherry, mushroom and a touch of earth. Ends with a cherry and earth infused finish of 25+ seconds. This is a very good Pinot and easy drinking.

Decanted for 1 hour. Aromas of raspberry, roasted herbs, black cherry and a touch of lavender. Flavors of bing cherry, raspberry, boysenberry, roasted herbs and fig. Ends with a long cherry note that hands there for 35+ seconds. The purity of flavor here is intense and very easy drinking with not a hard edge. Glad I have a few more of these.

Decanted for 1 hour. Aromas of boysenberry, cherry, blueberry, strawberry and touch of fig. Flavors of blueberry, raspberry, cherry, boysenberry and a touch of earth. Ends with 40 second finish with boysenberry notes. Took a little bit of time to come around since it was also a bit cool but once it did it was really nice.

Pop and pour. Aromas of sarsaparilla, dried cherry, dried strawberry, nutmeg and a touch of cinnamon. Flavors of bing cherry, strawberry, cinnamon, touch oy boysenberry and a touch of cola. Ends with a long finish of 40+ seconds with a very pure cherry note lingering throughout. People say these wines would not age but this is aging wonderfully. This was properly stored though right from release. Parker said that the majority of California wines don't change like Bordeaux but hang on. Think he was referring to the Cabs but the Pinots like this might fall in line as well.

Decanted for 2 hours. Aromas of blackberry, current, burning embers, iron and black cherry. Flavors of blackberry, currant, earth, iron and a hickory note. Ends with 30+ second finish with notes of smoke and blackberry. This is very fresh and doesn't seem like a dent has been made in this 10 year old Bordeaux. Still a long life ahead. Saving my last bottle for 10 years.

Pop, waited for it to come up to temperature before drinking. This is a golden color at this stage. Aromas of hazelnet, mango, papaya, citrus oil and pineapple. Flavors of buttered popcorn, lemon meringue, papaya, mango and a touch of spice. Ends with a long finish of 35+ seconds wit notes of lemon meringue. This is showing a few signs of aging but still has freshness.

Aromas of hazelnut, toasted marshmallow, papaya, mango and a hint of toasted almond. Flavors of papaya, pineapple, banana, touch of spice and mango. Ends with a 30 second finish with mango and vanilla notes. Someone suggested Aubert but I feel their have a lot more weight. I'd say a baby Marcassin but this is a touch big where the Marcassin has that powerful elegance. Somewhere in between I think. Very nice though.
