4/19/2013 - Strumpet101 Likes this wine: 92 pointsThis is good, but the 2010 is much better. Unfortunately the winery is sold out. I am a little worried that there was a little bit of oxidation in this bottle, maybe the next one will be more flawless. Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

4/3/2013 - Strumpet101 wrote: 90 pointsI don't know why it is that everyone seems to rate Bordeaux so much lower than they would, say, a Shiraz. Maybe it's the person rating. This is a lovely every-day wine. Anything I would drink as an every day wine requires a 90. It is balanced, not too much fruit, not too much tannin. I love it for an easy-drinking every day meal wine. |

4/1/2013 - Strumpet101 wrote: 90 pointsI think this wine achieves exactly what it sets out to do. The flavors of strawberry and various other berries are very nice. But it's too jammy (in that I can feel it sticking in the corners of my mouth) for my taste these days. I don't think leaving it any longer would help. It's just not my style of wine any more. The Australian sun is inescapable in this fruit. |

3/21/2013 - Strumpet101 wrote: 93 pointsDecanted close to an hour. So nice. New world style (in that it has lots of juicy fruit). It is not too fruity however. It has beautiful structure behind the fruit and it is balanced with acidity and lovely tobacco notes. |

3/20/2013 - Strumpet101 wrote: 94 pointsThis is divine. I'm very very sad that it is my last one. There is no hint of prune - it's beautiful and balanced, and as fruit forward as any other South Australian Shiraz without the 'too much fruit' feel. |

2/20/2013 - Strumpet101 Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis was only up from my cellar for an hour and feels cool still. This is inky, dark, with a hint of spice behind the dark fruit. On first taste, there were a lot of tannins but as the glass opens up they blend in nicely to give structure. 3 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

2/16/2013 - Strumpet101 wrote: 93 pointsHad this with lunch at Salt on Pearl street in Boulder. The has a grassyness that is unexpected with the rich straw color. There is a lot of sweetness as expected for the age of a sauvignon blanc, but the acidity is strong enough still to balance it. Highly unexpected, interesting, and delicious with the pub fare we had for lunch. |

2/13/2013 - Strumpet101 Likes this wine: 92 pointsAnything below a 90 is unfair to this wine. After an hour in the glass it is lovely. It's not huge, but it structured, balanced, slightly acidic, and beyond good at the price point. |

2/7/2013 - Strumpet101 Likes this wine: 93 pointsInky and dark. It has a slightly alcohol nose, but this is not evident on the palate. Blackberry, strawberry with a twinge of a sharp taste in an otherwise really rounded wine. |

2/6/2013 - Strumpet101 Likes this wine: 90 pointsLots of candy. Plenty of aeration meant there was no chemical residue, but there was potential for it. Very fruit forward. Very alcohol driven. Perhaps if we'd given it more time to air it would have scored higher. Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

2/3/2013 - Strumpet101 Likes this wine: 95 pointsThis wine is exquisite. Decanted an hour, served still pretty cool. It is light and delicate, with lovely balance. The acidity and fruit are accompanied by a gorgeous hint of oak - but it is not overwhelmingly creamy. Wish I'd bought way more than three. What follows is me trying the tasting assistant which I find difficult. The wine looks Light gold colored. The legs are Medium. It tastes like Lime, Peach, Apple, and Vanilla. The body is Light/Medium. The wine has Silky texture. The wine finishes Long. Drinking beautifully now. |

1/8/2013 - Strumpet101 Likes this wine: 92 pointsMeaty. Chunky. It needs a looong decanting. We had 2 hours, and half an hour in the glass, and it is getting better by the minute. But they are very very meaty. |

1/6/2013 - Strumpet101 Likes this wine: 93 pointsI'm giving this a 93. We opened the bottle at 1, decanted at 3:30, poured in glasses at 4:30 and sat down to dinner with a tenderloin roast at 5. Beautiful. It could be slightly tighter. I know that is nit-picking, but I really thought it could be stronger on the tannins. It's balanced and beautiful otherwise. |
