Not great. A bit of VA and some heat. Nice elements underneath but I think its best days are behind it.

This is still very fresh. Not much sign of aging but everything is fairly simple. Fruit may have slightly faded but nothing new has emerged. A nice wine but it is one note.

This wine was 100% new to me. (Thanks Gregg) Immediately intrigued but the complexity of the nose. Starts of tropical and then shows nice richness. Acidity hitting nicely. Medium bodied. Lots of texture with this wine. I am a new fan of Massican.

2013 Matello Whistling Ridge Vineyard

Ribbon Ridge White Blend more

This stuff is magic. The wine is a perfect example of why I have a new found love for white wines from Oregon. This is a blend of Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Gewürztraminer. Marcus makes sure to keep a little RS which is a home run. Bits of citrus and cream. Acids are plentiful and punch through keeping the wine fresh on every sip. Hard not to want to have a glass of this everyday. I have really enjoyed tasting through Marcus's wines over the last few years.

Terrific stuff. Not sure if I have had any post Raney Pinots but I do night detect any change in style. Very pretty. Aromas of cherries and spice with a bit of raspberry. The palate is light and complex. Red fruit and and dried flowers. How in the world is this sub $20. Clean and pure. Classic Evesham Wood.

Wow. This was a gift and even though it is from Santa Lucia Highlands, I thought it would be a fine, well made wine. Nope. This is disgusting and undrinkable. For the aromas, just light a match and the get some over ripe, rotten fruit. The palate is gag worthy. Like drinking a glass of liquid smoke mixed with the cheapest whisky you can find.

I have no recollection of having a more undrinkable wine.

Oh yes. This is wonderful. I think it is my first 2013 Bojo and the signs are good. Had this over an afternoon while cooking with friends so not much detailed info other than I recall I liked all the elements. Animal aromatics with strawberries and rocks. I will let my other bottle rest a bit as I think this will develop nicely.

Aromas of cherry, earth and bramble. Classic St Innocent. Big expressive fruit. Red fruited with a savory finish. Medium tannins and concentration. With some airtime, I really like where this is at but probably best to wait a few more years.

This had been open for 4 days and is yummy. Of note, the nose had an element of hops. Interesting. Apricots, apricots, apricots and cream. Delicious. Could use some more acid.

very light on the aromatics. Tried a few different glasses. The subtle aromas were nice, I just wish the volume was turned up. On the second night the nose woke up a bit with fruit and spice. Tasting note is, "delicious". Full throttle without being overbearing. Black cherries and citrus works well with the oak. Great stuff.

Upon opening the aromas are burnt rubber/reduced. Also candied dark fruits. The palate hits full throttle and is massive. Some delicate raspberry fruit. Mouth coating and sweet. No tannins. 15.8% but I didn't notice any heat. Did not intentionally keep this one so long but it happened. Better in its youth but we enjoyed it for what it is now.

2005 Anthill Farms Pinot Noir Tina Marie Vineyard

Russian River Valley more

5/7/2015 - jasonh wrote: 84 points

Had over 2 nights. Cork left in overnight.
I grabed some Anthill Farms when they came out after hearing lots of buzz about how they had a restrained style. Early on I found them very ripe but left a few bottles to get some age. Age was not a friend to this wine. The nose was candied and thick. Right near the edge. Sweet red fruit on the attack that was very enjoyable but it quickly got engulfed by mocha. On the second night, the mocha was replaced with a sweet fruit punch. The fruit tasted good but the sweetness really distracted. I would have enjoyed this wine a lot more if it had just a bit of tannin. There was none perceptible. On the first night, the finish was very bitter but that had cleaned up on the second night. The wine would be good a a summer sipper with a bit of a chill on it.

Checking in on an entry level 2008. Had mainly over 2 nights with a small glass left on the 3rd night. Basically identical for the first 2 nights and then going completely south on the 3rd night. Savory flavors surrounding the fruit. Still a good amount of tannins present on the finish. This has good complexity for an entry level wine. At this point, I think I'll drink my last bottle in the next 24 months.

Stumbled across this at the locker and it was not in CT so I figured it was a freebie. I was mistaking this for the overly stinky 2005 until I checked CT. This was nice and clean. On the first night the nose reminded me of spring water. Maybe a whole cluster element. Clean red fruits on the palate. On the second night it had developed more savory elements and became more rhone like. The acidity was juicy and very present.

Had over 2 nights. Only note is to say that for a vineyard I generally dislike and from a producer that says to drink their wines young, I thought this was mighty fine. Lots of fresh dark fruits. Acidity is a bit out of whack but not too distracting.

This was a bit odd. At times it was enjoyable but simple. At other times the band aid brett factor was distracting. Definitely some plastic elements. The fruit was still fresh. I had this over 2 nights and while it was fine, it was night inspiring.

Easter dinner was in full swing so I don't have much for notes on this wine other than to say it is coming along nicely. The flavors are impressively clean and powerful. I personally like where this is at with some air time, but I think it will continue to develop for years to come.

2013 Aubert Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard

4/5/2015 - jasonh Likes this wine: 94 points

Give some airtime and this wine starts singing. White stoney fruits with a subdued rich smokiness. It seems like I either love or hate these chardonnays. The wine is big and intense but maybe because of its youthfulness, it does not become fatiguing. And at this stage it shows none of the trademark searing heat. Lots of complexity and just enough acidity to keep it fresh. Probably too young to even guess about ageability but why not just drink it now.

I had this over a few nights. The nose was a bit off with slight touch of VA or something volatile. Not too bothersome but it is there. On the palate there was terrific berry fruit but on the palate there seemed to be something off as well. Maybe a touch of brett. Still a lot of structure and will need time. If drinking now, give lots of air as this was improved on the second day (left with cork out). But the potential "off" elements did not change.
