Some spice on the nose. Red fruits, vanilla, medium - light acid, simple, but drinkable.

This showed very well. Pulled from the cellar and served at about 55 degrees. Some mineral, wet stone, tangerine, lime and pear. A bit creamy but there is a fair amount of acid to offset it. A little saline and a faint hint of caramel on the finish. We both enjoyed it. I will try to save my last bottle for a while and will add more 2014.

Compared to the Bois Redon, this was richer and more dense. Where the Bois Redon showed tertiary flavors, this is was still showing simply, with black fruits, and just a hint of graphite and licorice. Some slight oaky notes as well. Not bad but just a bit simple still. 89

We both enjoyed this fairly pale, salmon colored rose. Dry, crisp and tart with some mineral notes. It has been a couple years since I've had a Collestefano rose, but based on this showing, I'll add them into our rose rotation with Boulay and Montenidoli.

A lighter, traditional styled, Bordeaux. Very much a food wine. Light/medium bodied, with earth, smoke, and graphite notes. Dry and acidic. Ann didn't like it but I enjoyed it. 87-88

This is a pleasant little Rhone blend. Red fruits, spice, and some meaty, classic Rhone notes. A nice level of acidity keeps it fresh and lively. 13% alcohol makes it easy to drink too.

1/22/2016 - Outplaying wrote: flawed

Tasted blind but I was told it was a Brunello. Paler in color than I am used to. First whiff - it was slightly corked, but not so bad that I wouldn't taste it. On the lighter, elegant side but probably muted due to cork taint. A good bottle of this might be decent but for the price I'd rather have a Felsina CCR.

Pretty good but not as structured or interesting as the Foreau 2010 Vouvray sec. The nose was nice, with citrus and brine. Moderate acidity and soft on the palate. Saline, citrus and green apple on the finish.

This is really good. It has softened a bit since I last had this about two years ago, but it it still tightly coiled with quite a bit of dry extract. I wish I had more than just one bottle to follow over the next ten years or so. I'll have to pick up some of the 11 as the 10 is gone from my normal source.

Second look at this wine and while I wasn't impressed with the last bottle, I enjoyed this one. The wine has a crisp, crunchy character due to the weight and acidity. A little dusty on the nose. A mix of red and black fruits with light accents of licorice and tobacco on the palate.

Ann poured this for me blind. Light in color and I immediately thought pinot. Somewhat subdued nose with a hint of dustiness. Was it my glass? On the palate, lots of red cherries. With a little air, black cherry, and a little spice. Lighter bodied and soft/light tannin. I wasn't sure what this was but guessed a CA Pinot. With air, this turns a little darker in color, and gains some char and smokey notes. I like this wine and think it will improve with time.

This continued to drink well for a few days.

2nd look at this wine. This time from a .375. Tasty and similar impressions as with the last bottle, only we didn't get much in the way of pencil shavings or bell pepper that showed with air time in the last bottle. Popped and poured two quick glasses so the wine never really got the chance to see much air. I am happy with this purchase and it is going to be hard to keep my hands off of them.

Seeing Bob H's comment and others whose palates I respect on this wine prompted be to open a bottle before it's too late to get more. I will be working late a few nights this week so I cracked a bottle at work to go with a salad and some pork butt I smoked over the weekend. Served at about 60 degrees. This is the real deal. It has a lot of the characteristics I love about Chablis. Sea air, saline and mineral with lots of acid to keep it lively. Smells like the liquor of a fresh shucked oyster. And 16 bucks?! A definite repurchase. Get 'em while you can - I took the last 8 bottles at one of the stores I use.

This was popped and poured at a party we were attending and is one of the few 06 Brunello I've tried. Still very young and primary. Built well with lots of fruit and structure. Lots of potential here but I'd wait five plus years before opening one of these. I'll also not rush to open my Brunello from this vintage.

We don't drink a lot of Beaujolais but this was very enjoyable. Light and lithe with dark fruits, fall spices and an earthy, smoky edge. Not surprisingly, I liked it more than Ann. I'll try to wait a year or two between remaining bottles. With Eric and Rita.
