PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs and Day 2
-opaque dark red no bricking
-pleasant meaty dark fruit spice and scorched earth
-low acidity gives it a sense of flabbiness, still some sweet dark fruit remnants and med chalky tannins, finishes with noticeable heat and a Port-like pruney residue; still flabby but a bit more pleasant and balanced on day 2
-very typical 2007 S. Rhone, while there are still some tannins to shed doubt this will improve as it may hold little charm after the fading fruit is gone

-moderately expressive somber earth berry
-med+ acidity, relatively non expressive dominant earth med concentration trace medicinal beetroot, respectably long finish with bitter med+ chalky tannins; bitter and sour predominate on day 2
-a bit more rusticity than typical for the vintage or producer, this either needs more air, more time, or may be a bit flawed (?VA)

6/15/2015 - Cote d'Or wrote: NR

PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs and day 2
-nearly opaque dark red very faint purple near rim
-slightly creamy dusty soft cherry fruit and earth
-barely med acidity, lighter weight but moderately sappy earthy red cherry mid-palate with fleeting medicinal note and abundant chalky tannins, opens up considerably after 2 hrs; similar on Day 2
-good for the appellation, should be better in 3-5 years

General Note: so far lower end 2012 red Burgs seem to be a hypothetical mix of 2009 soft ripe fruit but more in the red spectrum and 2010 intensity though less minerality and clarity

-med/med+ acidic spine carries through to the finish, barely med weight highly focused sappy and dense mid-palate with fairly complex mix of saline lemon fennel spice, moderate length
-classic power without weight, the blend of Fevre exuberance with Les Clos restraint provides a certain sense of tension, this is drinking marvelously well now and hints towards several years of further improvement
