7/19/2009 - DUSTOFF wrote: 91 pointsOut of magnum. Overall a well made wine. The nose was quite obviously Green Valley with wonderful Pinot material. However there was just a touch of sweetness that was off putting. No signs of heat on the nose or palate, the wine was a bit rich and the finish was long and complete. This could have been several points higher without the sweetness. |

7/19/2009 - DUSTOFF wrote: 94 pointsAbsolutely shining right now. From the moment the cork was pulled you knew something special was within. Very delineated dark fruits on the nose, very clean, pure tannins that could obviously use some more time in the bottle. Full, rich palate and a 30+ second finish. This wine got better and better over the course of several hours and will be a true gem in 10 years. |

7/19/2009 - DUSTOFF wrote: 92 pointsQuite good already. Framed by a touch of wood there are some great steely fruits and acidic cut. Needs a few more years to really shine but can be drunk now without fear. |

7/11/2009 - DUSTOFF wrote: 92 pointsTried this one out for the first time at Boat St. Cafe in Seattle last night. It's definitely Russian River Valley immediately upon opening. Still a kiss of toast on the nose but some wonderful bright blackberry, violet and lavender smells. The palate is still fairly large scaled do to it's youth, the finish is medium-long and very satisfying. Some good stuff going on at EK. |

7/6/2009 - DUSTOFF wrote: 92 pointsPopped the 1992 Estate Syrah last night with grilled rack of lamb. Perfectly mature and showing all of its glory. Full of secondary Syrah characteristics, white pepper, sous-bois, blackberry, and a bit of dark chocolate. Full mid-palate and a long satisfying finish. A perfect match for the lamb. |

6/20/2009 - DUSTOFF wrote: 91 pointsNot quite the stunner that my last bottle in November was but fun to taste anyway. It was slightly warm when first opened but was tossed in the cellar for a few minutes to cool down. Very earthy and classic Stag's Leap characteristics on the nose and palate. A full and rich finish that is still fairly vibrant. Even the French gentleman at the tasting thought it was French. |

6/14/2009 - DUSTOFF wrote: 93 pointsAbsolutely beautiful. This bottle was obviously stored very well before my auction purchase several years ago. The cork was still nearly new looking. Haunting aromas of old world fruits, cinnamon, strawberry and sweet tannins. Palate was still quite vibrant with a long and satisfying finish. An excellent finish to an epic Vintage Champagne and Sushi gathering. |
