Half-bottle. Deep golden. The color prepares you for the richness, intensity and power to come. Flavor profile was very tropical. Pineapple, mango all blended together with searing acidity. Make no mistake, this is SWEET. I love this style of Auslese. This is a big wine but balanced well with clean acidity. The intensity remains throughout the finish leaving a sappy and memorable aftertaste. Excellent!

AP #14. Half-bottle. Light golden. Nice primary fruit on the nose. More green and orchard fruit rather than tropical. Lightly sweet. I expected more richness for a Lange GK. For the vintage, surprisingly the acidity wasn't electrifying. Good, drinking nicely now and very true to the house style.

Pale straw. Kerosene on the nose. Dry to off-dry on the palate. Low acid but sufficient to make it interesting. Finish was a tad disappointing - not memorable. Overall a nice drink but hard to see this developing further from here. Drink up.

Rather disappointing. This wasn't green as many of the '04s are but this did not show any Chambolle-ness at all too. Very very tannic on the palate. With air, the chinese herbs aromas came out. Man this is not nice at all considering the plot and pedigree.

AP #18. From ex-cellar released recently. Had it earlier this year and this time paired with a light soy milk pudding dessert which went beautifully with it. Still straw green. Very lightly sweet with nose of petrol. As much as '03 was a ripe and hot year, this was extremely elegant and delicate with perhaps a tad lower acidity than normal but this wasn't so obvious because the palate wasn't full-bodied. Lovely to end the meal without heaviness.

Deep yellow. This was bold on the nose and rich on the palate yet maintains a perfect balance. Almonds, brioche, pears, pineapples all blend in seamlessly. Fairly full-bodied, slightly oxidative with excellent focus and precision. A treat!

Salmon orange color. Lovely apples and cherries with grapefruit freshness. Dry and very elegant. Almost light-bodied and very subtle on the palate. This wine deserves contemplation.

Lightly copper in color. This was round, rich and complex. Love the depth and red-fruited character here. Lots of blood orange and grapefruit on the perfectly balanced palate.

Bright yellow. More racy and tart than the NV. A little bit leaner too, perhaps from the vintage. More lemons and citrus here with clean and vivid acidity on the medium-bodied palate. This goes well with creamy food and seafood.

En magnum, 2012 base year. Rich and round on the palate. Good mouth-feel and orchard fruit dominated character - apples, pears. A little sweetness balances the full-bodied and zesty palate. An excellent NV.

One whiff and one knows we're in new world territory. Admitedly this wasn't as jammy and big as many Napas. Somewhere in between a Dominus and a Schafer. Definitely powerful but still has a reasonable balance.

Transparent color. A good sign for Burgs. Lovely nose of sweet cherries and violets. very pretty and entirely primary. Love the aromatic nose. Palate was clean and pure, not huge but elegant as expected for a Latricieres. Very good and impressive effort.

Color very evolved, golden. Quite a bit of oak influence here with the entry and attack more impressive than the finish. Enjoyable but in small quantities. Did not wow for a Corton-Charlie.

Cork in perfect condition. Quite long actually. Showing very very well now. Fruits still alive and tannins very smooth. Light-bodied, and quite classy. Still can hold but lovely to drink now.

Very light straw color. Expressive on the nose. Palate very intense and almost full-bodied. Not as round as Krug. Quite a bit of acidity and freshness here. Good drinking by itself without food.

This wasn't as bright and fruit-forward as most other LLMs I've had. Instead this was rather brooding and not very expressive at the moment. In fact, this felt a bit clunky although you can feel lots of extract here.

Very pretty and stylistically very similar to the Nicolas Rossignol, if just slightly missing a bit of drive which may be due to the vintage. But overall it has good balance and purity without oak influence. Excellent!

This came last in the Volnay dinner. Dense, structured yet the tannins were fine. A lot of stuffing here and it does show its class but one feels this needs more time to truly show its stuff.

A bit chunky, perhaps from the oak. I guessed 2005 from the structure and size. A big Volnay and I could've have guessed a Pommard. I would have guessed this was from a traditional, old school producer.

Very pretty nose. Rose petals, violets. This is a stereotypical Volnay. Lacy and light-bodied. Palate gets a bit tired near the end of the dinner though but the nose held up.

Guessed a St Aubin from the salty minerality. Can taste the ripeness here so I guessed '09 but quite surprised this was from the weaker '06 vintage. Very good for what it is.
