Still very young with gobs of black fruit. This one will go the distance. Great balance and complexity. Among the best BC Syrahs. Will try again next year.

Love this stuff. Lots of barnyard on the nose and palate intermingled with black cherry and chocolate. Builds on the palate to a med long finish. Nice balance between fruit, tanins, acidity and alcohol. Drinking beautifully right now but will likely improve for a while yet.

Silky smooth with depth and finesse. Beautiful cassis and cream nose with cassis, chocolate, and vanilla oak on the palate with decent balance. Drinking perfectly now. Wish I had more.

2005 Carpineta Fontalpino Montaperto Toscana IGT

SuperTuscan Blend more

clear, medium ruby color
moderate intense nose with aromas of soft ripe red fruits (cherries and plums) with sweet spice (vanilla) and earth
medium body on the palate with m+ acidity and tannins; flavors of red fruit with chewy tannins, spice and earth; a bit hot on the finish but nice balance overall
Paired well with the Italian chorizo penne and tomato sauce; wine improved as it opened up in the decanter (about 45 mins); will improve for another 4 to 8 years in the cellar

clear light/med cherry red; medium intensity on the nose with ripe red fruit (cherry and strawberry) and a hint of leather, earth and spice; medium body with smooth, supple mouthfeel and red fruit and leather on the palate; great balance between fruit and acidity. Drinking very nicely now but will improve for a few more years.
