Informal, but loads of red and dark fruit, raspberry and medium+ acidity. Medium finish with minimal tannins. This continued to evolve in the glass with no signs of slowing down. 92+

Loads of cherry, balsamic, cherry pit and dried herbs. Moderate acidity and medium + tannins. Medium finish. This certainly got better with air and is drinking well after being opened two days. I'll probably wait a while to open the other bottles.

C: Surprisingly dark, with little bricking. N: Dusty cellar, loads of leather, some oak. P: More dusty, earthy flavors, dry black cherry, leather, pronounced tannins and acidity. Medium body. F: Medium with drying, firm tannins on the back end and a classic Italian profile. While the cork in this showed running around half way, this is very good and drinking surprisingly young. Very nice.
Edit: This was even better 2 days later after being in the 'fridge. Still enough dark fruit, but loads of tannic structure.

Very informal, but this really needed a decant. Definitely progressed through the nigh and the next day, it was a bit more elegant than other offerings and was delicious. Elegant cranberry, earth, strawberry and rhubarb.

Trey nailed it below. On the pnp, I got sulfur and a mildew on the nose, but this blew off after a few minutes. The palate was restrained, but had plenty of old school Italian character with a surprising amount of red fruit and leather.Short finish. No signs of falling apart in the glass over an hour drinking period. 91+

Amazingly dark with no signs of age. N: Loads of rich Napa fruit, espresso and oak. P: Rich, dark cherry, raspberry, coffee. Medium + acidity kept the fruit from being too much, with balanced tannins. Medium-full body. F: Medium+ with more fruit and excellent acidity. This seemed surprisingly young and got better with a 2 hour decant. I really wish I had more. 92-93

This was great by itself or with food. 92-93. It truly showed best on day 2.

Decanted for 2 hours. Surprisingly restrained in flavor and complexity, especially for a 2007, this seemed more like a moderate CdR than a higher priced Cdp. Mild cranberry, dried herb and some earthiness. Integrated tannins with balanced acidity. Short-medium length finish. Paired with grilled lamb chops. 87-90

This bottle was definitely a surprise, compared to my last tasting. Before, I thought it tasted like a Lambrusco, with sweet, grape Kool Aid flavors. That was 3 years ago. This last bottle was an excellent example of Italian wine, with distinct regional flavors. Dusty cellar, dried fruit, dried herbs and a luscious earthy component, it continued to get better in the glass as it sat. I popped this with pizza since I remember the last bottle being so simple, but this was a treat. I wish I had more. 91-92

Dark fruits, licorice and some leather. The problem seemed to be the lack of fruit or depth, which I enjoyed in the Ursa. Medium+ tannins and med acidity, it never seemed very compelling. 87-89. Day two presented similarly, but with a bit more structure.

Hmmm, very unlike my previous bottles. Black cherry, dark fruit, but certainly not heavy, mineral, Rutherford dust and saddle. Bright acidity on the medium finish with seamless tannins. Seemed to gain weight with air, with a bit more complexity. Down to six from a case, I hope the other bottles show this well. 91-92

C: Noticeable lightening of the color. N: Earthy black fruit, must, dusty cellar. Not particularly expressive. P: Black fruit, some licorice, dried herbs and dusty cellar. The tannins and acidity are much more integrated now, but this has shed quite a bit of the luscious fruit I adore. F: Medium with a distinct Old World- Italian profile. I felt it waffled between the funky Syrah character and an Italian Cab profile, IMO. 90+

Informal notes, but this bottle really needed a decant. Initially, the palate was astringent, tannic and smoky. With significant air, it showed more dark fruit and less astringency. Day 2 was showed a slightly more integrated wine, but it really seemed to need food to drink well. The somewhat bitter tannins, tar, black licorice and smoke made it a bit harsh on its own. 90+
