6/30/2018 - dy_dx Likes this wine: 91 points2 hour decant. Still very hot. Cedar, spice box, and some deep black fruit, but a little overpowered by the alcohol. |

10/9/2015 - dy_dx Likes this wine: 91 pointsOur last bottle of half a case. The nose is still sharp and young even 2 hours after opening, but the palate is becoming much softer. If we had more would drink them soon. |

5/22/2015 - dy_dx wrote: 96 pointsFantastic nose of blueberry bushes and other dark fruits initially. Over time the nose faded to leather and then to raspberries and strawberries. Vibrant acidity and juicy red fruit on the palate throughout, still has plenty of time left. |

5/1/2015 - dy_dx Likes this wine: 90 pointsPleasant nose of licorice, dried leaves, and cherry. For the first 1.5 hours, the palate was bland, with some acidity but very little fruit or other flavors. After spending time in a decanter, the palate opened up with juicy sour cherries followed by a moderately tannic finish. |

3/24/2015 - dy_dx Likes this wine: 92 pointsPopped and poured. Started well and got better in the glass over 2 hours. Strong roses and cassis on the nose. Palate had juicy dark fruit and good tannins. This is in a good place now and seems like it still has several years left |

3/1/2015 - dy_dx wrote: 89 pointsRight after opening, very muted nose and palette. After ~2 hours blackberries, other dark fruits, violets, and cedar came through on the nose. Palette became juicy berries, though dried and finished quickly. |

11/12/2011 - dy_dx wrote: 86 pointsFruit forward and round. Pretty singular notes of tangy dark fruit (blueberries, black cherries) on nose and palette. A little pepper on the palette, but not much else going on. Easy to drink - reminded me of unlabeled table wine in Italy. |

7/1/2011 - dy_dx wrote: 89 pointsNose of cigar box, bacon, forest floor. After 1.5 hours, the wood started to give way to blackberry and stronger smoked meat aromas. The palate was thin and acidic, showing tobacco leaf, a bit of black fruit, and delivering on the bacon-y promise of the nose. Alone, this was good, but with time and with food it was very good. |

6/26/2011 - dy_dx wrote: 86 pointsOverwhelming wood notes upon opening, used slow oxygenation for 5 hours then decanted. Cedar still showed on the nose, but opened up to leather and jammy strawberry. The palate showed a little bit of the same jammy strawberry but it only lingered briefly for a short finish. |

6/11/2011 - dy_dx wrote: 89 pointsGreen apple and citrus nose. Reasonable acidity and a creamy pinor noir palate. It appeared very carbonated in the glass, but the bubbles didn't really stand out in the mouthfeel. |

3/27/2011 - dy_dx wrote: 89 pointsNose showed honey, lemon, mango, and a bit of salt spray characteristic. Palate was a sticky, sweet lemon with a very light effervescence to liven things up. The palate went from acidity and fizz in the front, through a slightly sweet phase, with persistent acidity on the finish. We thoroughly enjoyed this wine, which paired fantastically with homemade indian food. Wish we had more! |

3/24/2011 - dy_dx wrote: 84 pointsJust turning brick at the edges, no sediment. Great mature nose of jammy strawberries with a little bit of cedar and earth. Same jammy strawberries on the palate, but the fruit disappears quickly and is replaced by dryness. Food and a bit of time in the glass helped the palate, but clearly this has lost a lot of fruit already. |

3/5/2011 - dy_dx wrote: 86 pointsStill sooo drinkable. Nose is soft black fruit, but palette has lush fruit and spiciness. Short finish. Overall, good value. |

2/27/2011 - dy_dx wrote: 81 pointsInitially a bit closed. Became much more drinkable after ~30 minutes in the glass. Soft red fruit without very much in the way of secondary notes or acidity. Maybe this was compounded by a bad food pairing choice, but this was disappointing compared to previous bottles from the same vintage |

6/5/2010 - dy_dx wrote: 93 pointsCork gave a lot of trouble, threw half a glass of sediment on decanting. Very ruddy at the edges, but still deep plum color at the center. Initially strong oak and cedar nose, and very flat on the palate. We were worried this bottle was done. After about 40 mins in the glass however, the wood blew off the nose and it revealed some greatness - roses and lilies, dry earth, and fall spices. The palate also deepened, showing a hint of fruit and soft tannin that made it a pleasure to have in the mouth. Finish lengthened to ~30 seconds. Wish we had waited an hour before even touching this. |
