Pop 'n pour. This did not open up completely in the short time I had with it, but this was really nice zin with good balance, great zin flavors, and not jammy or hot. Structured with good acidity and tannins, this will drink very well for a long time.

Honestly, this wine is so oak-laden that I could hardly choke down a glass. Even after tons of air and trying over several evenings, this was all wood, all of the time. These cheap Spanish garnacha's are so predictable.

Some oak, generous fruit, some Tuscan character, $9. A winner, especially after leaving overnight and allowing the oak to integrate a bit.

Drinking very well right now. Great nose, a core of sweet fruit, good balance. Some soft tannins still present, so could go for a while longer. Probably entering its prime drinking window now.

Not sure if there are different lots of this or what, but this wine punched way above its $7/bottle price tag. Tasted nothing like the notes written here. And I was not alone, as there were 3 other wine geeks with me evaluating a bunch of inexpensive wines for a wedding. Everyone agreed that this wine was quite good and a ridiculous value. It was fruit forward with some genuine cab flavors, not heavily oaked, not alcoholic, and had some balancing acidity. This is a large production wine, so it wouldn't surprise me if there were large variations in lots or bottles. This bottle came from LA Wine Co and was a high quality wine, regardless of price.

Rich and ripe with a good dose of sweet oak. I usually don't like this style at all, but this is clearly well made and was enjoyable. Tasted alongside the 2006 which was very similar.

This was very muted at first and a little funky, maybe some brett, but I though perhaps slightly corked. My more experience drinking partner thought not corked. It opened up a bit after about a half hour and some of the funk blew off, but was still unremarkable and not particularly enjoyable.

Drinking really beautifully right now. Classic Bordeaux on the nose. On the palate, still a little tannic bite, with a focused core of fruit with maturing flavors. Not a large-scaled wine -- more on the elegant side, but still with some depth and richness. This is probably still near the beginning of its drinking window with many more good years to come.

Another good showing from this wine, but clearly not up to the level of the other Tercero 2013 whites that I've tried lately (Grenache Blanc, Viognier, and Verbiage Blanc). Says more about the quality of these others than the Outlier, which is very good.

This needed 2 nights in the fridge and tons of air to finally open up and show its beauty. Before it finally did open up, it was a little disjointed and unremarkable, so give it lots more time or a long decant.

No Pinot Noir typicity that I could discern. Oak was all I could smell and taste. Some like a heavy oak profile, so this may work for those who do.

Some pretty young gamay and earthy flavors, but this seems to be in a shut down phase. Lots of air over 2 days did nothing to open this one up. Still somewhat enjoyable, but one to lay down for a while.

BU11ITT's previous note is pretty much spot on for me. In summary, this is very tight on the pop 'n pour with aggressive tannins. This really tasted very shut down at first, but after vacuvin'ing and leaving overnight, the fruit emerged a bit and showed a glimpse of what this wine will be in 3 or 15 years.

Tasted over 2 days - consistent throughout (vacuvin'd and stored at room temp overnight). This wine has not evolved much since my last bottle 3 years ago. Still lots of young primary fruit. The nose is really expansive, and frankly, I don't think the palate lived up to the nose's promise.

Drank beautifully on the unscrew 'n pour - nice aromas, slightly earthy and generous fruity pinot flavors. There was also a bitter oak note, which I didn't mind until the second day, where the fruit seemed to dry out and leave a dominant oak note with lots of oak tannin.
