Pleasant, fruit-forward Pinot, oak is noticeable. Decent wine for $13 (Costco price).

There was so little flavor, it tasted stripped -- possibly lightly corked.

Not over the top jammy or alcoholic, but the flavor profile was raisiny which is not something I enjoy very much. Big and flavorful but decent balance as well.

Some pretty young gamay and earthy flavors, but this seems to be in a shut down phase. Lots of air over 2 days did nothing to open this one up. Still somewhat enjoyable, but one to lay down for a while.

BU11ITT's previous note is pretty much spot on for me. In summary, this is very tight on the pop 'n pour with aggressive tannins. This really tasted very shut down at first, but after vacuvin'ing and leaving overnight, the fruit emerged a bit and showed a glimpse of what this wine will be in 3 or 15 years.

Like many of the Tercero whites, I think this showed better as it warmed to room temp. Interesting and enjoyable drink.

Tasted over 2 days - consistent throughout (vacuvin'd and stored at room temp overnight). This wine has not evolved much since my last bottle 3 years ago. Still lots of young primary fruit. The nose is really expansive, and frankly, I don't think the palate lived up to the nose's promise.

Drank beautifully on the unscrew 'n pour - nice aromas, slightly earthy and generous fruity pinot flavors. There was also a bitter oak note, which I didn't mind until the second day, where the fruit seemed to dry out and leave a dominant oak note with lots of oak tannin.

51 notes and nary a mention of oak? To me, this wine was dominated by heavy toasted oak, of which I'm not a fan. I'm more sensitive than most, I guess. Tasted over two days.

Again, this becomes more flavorful and interesting as it warms to room temperature, with some tropical fruit notes, petrol in kind of a viscous package. Funny, when it was cool right from the fridge, this had a pronounced bitterness to it which disappeared as it warmed and became a bit sweeter.

Really nice. There's a savory, grilled meat thing going on with this but also some iron and high-toned fruit. Seemed young and slightly primary and should have a long life ahead of it.

An understated, balanced, and elegant rose on the mineral rather than fruity side of the spectrum. I prefer this style to the more fruity styles we see quite often from Spain and the new world. Kind of a "baby Domaine Tempier". Good stuff for those that like this style.

Cork had a streak all the way up to the top, though there was no leakage and it didn't tasted oxidized. Still, this bottle did not show as well as the others that I've had recently, but still very good and still needed lots of air to show its best.

Tasted over 3 days - consistent throughout (vacuvin'd and stored in fridge overnight). More open and rich than I thought it would be, given the character of other 2011 Carlisle's I've tried. An interesting red-fruited tartness to counter the richness. Drinking rather seamlessly at this point. Excellent Carlisle zin yet again.

Not sure if it was my palate, bottle shock, or an off bottle or what, but this bottle showed much better than the bottle I opened a couple of months ago. There was some subtle oak, and the wine as a whole was beautiful and expressive, showing a nice core of dark fruit and good balance and depth. Fantastic accompaniment to BBQ pork spare ribs.

Lots of primary fruit, fairly ripe, but balanced by abundant acidity. Love the field blend character of this wine. There are so many flavors going on throughout the palate. My first taste of a Two Acres bottling and I'm not disappointed, though I think this will really improve with a few years on it at least.

Not sure who is setting the drinking window on this wine, but this is drinking beautifully now and I'd say that this is only entering its prime drinking window now. A drinking window of 2008 - 2011 for a 2005 Napa Cabernet from a classic old school producer? That's a joke. The drinking window should be 2013 - 2025 for this. And for those of you that like full throttle Napa Cab, yes, this is not an exciting wine. Instead, this a balanced, medium-weight Cab without tons of oak, just pure Cab flavors. I found this to have very nice eucalyptus/minty Cali Cab aromas and flavors, good concentration, and good balancing acidity with structure and depth of fruit to age for 20 years. The palate does tend towards the simple side but I think more age will help out here.

The note written by <MATTEO> earlier is absolutely spot on. Though for me, the acidic imbalance detracts from my enjoyment a bit and I can't give it such a high score. Very good wine to accompany hearty pasta dishes.

This bottle was more advanced (read: over the hill) than the previous bottles that I've tried recently. Light fruit, good balance, a little barnyard funk. One has to expect some bottle variation in wines of this age I suppose.

Second bottle opened with a chance to spend more time with it and taste over a couple of days. My impression has not really changed very much: it's a very balanced, light, and pretty Pinot with very nice aromatics and interesting and pleasing earthy flavors. The character didn't change much with the extra air exposure on the second evening. I won't go so far as to say that it is "thin" or "watery", but I can't disagree with anyone that does; I did spend quite a bit of time paying attention to the finish where it seemed to lose focus and the flavors dissipated very quickly. On the other side of the spectrum, some other notes have used descriptors like "fruit-forward", "medium bodied", "good concentration" and I will have to disagree somewhat with those characterizations. To me this falls firmly into the "light-bodied" category and is not at all fruit forward or concentrated. In any case, I like this wine for its great aromatics and pure flavors that, to me, speak of the terroir. That said, this is certainly worth the $19 but, to be honest, I would not seek this out if it was at a price point above $28 or $30, as there are many other good domestic Pinot options available in that range.

Enjoyed this again - it seems to have settled down a bit since I last tried it. The dark, brooding nature of this wine is still there, though, and it really delivers a great drinking experience. I had this as a late night cocktail and it was great, though I think this shows better with a hearty meat and potatoes meal.
