Ho-hum, nothing special. Stored at a constant 55 degrees and there wasn't much there. Maybe it was a bad bottle, but the huge fruit described in prior notes was nowhere to be found. To be sure, it is well made, but it was nothing like the Two Hands Ares that I've had.

Cork disintegrated in the midst of opening and the bottom half ended up going into the bottle after I couldn't get it up without further fragmentation. Wine was very soft and sweet, and probably at its peak. I'd drink up if I had more, especially with the cork experience with this and the prior bottle.

Stored at cellar temperature in a 375. This needs more time or a lot of air. Lots of potential, but a bit shut down right now (94+ in about 7-10 yrs)

Bottle was showing signs of seepage, so i decided to pull the trigger on the first of two. Cork was exceptionally soft and streaked through, so my suspicions were correct. I don't know if its time is up or the fact that there was a cork problem, but the best sip of this wine was its first, and that is the basis of the score. On first taste, I got creamy blue fruits that faded to chocolate/leather over the course of a few hours. I left the bottle open for about an hour then double decanted back into the bottle; I think that on the remaining one, I will not do that. My preference is for the younger, fruit driven wine, but if you like a mature cali cab, this one is a great option.

Totally closed down tonight. I got a couple of hints of what is to come, but there just wasn't that much of it. 2007 is far superior, and I think the high scores given to this wine may be a bit too high, though only time will tell. A bit chalky, with not too much fruit showing on either the nose or palate. Hopefully it will emerge in a couple of years.

Hot and disjointed. If it weren't for the fact that this was 25% off at K&D for a winemakers tasting event, it would have been horribly overpriced. Even so, avoid this in favor of dutton or equivalent.

For sure, the best bottle of pinot noir from california that I have ever had. Whether the WS score or subsequent accolades are deserved is a question for someone else. The wine had a great mouthfeel with no rough edges. And to find it for less than retail (post WS top 100 cost) on the winelist at Marea was a complete surprise. Ready to drink now, or hold for a little while

Just a touch below the Les Pavots we had last year for my birthday. This doesn't give up much on the nose at the outset, but slowly opened to reveal smoky red fruits in a somewhat restrained but certainly refined mouthfeel. I enjoyed this a lot, and it was a far better option to bring a 375ml bottle to Mas la Grillade rather than overpay for theirs. This is an excellent food wine as it complements rather than overpowers what is being consumed. Should improve a bit over the next few years but this bottle was almost into its prime

No score. This simply isn't for me. Too much alcohol and port-like qualities render drinking anything more than a glass difficult. Also, it fell apart after several hours.

The WS score (93) is way too high. This is nowhere near as good as the 05 that got the same score. This was quite hot and lacked the multi-layered fruit flavors that I was hoping for. Perhaps it needs more time, but I don't think it will get much better.

Score would be higher if the finish was longer. Decent nose, classic cab flavor. However, there are other options that afford the same qualities for less price, so I don't think I will be seeking more of this out. Also, I don't see it improving much - the tannin in my bottle had integrated pretty well and I just don't see where else it could go in the future.
