Community Tasting Note

March 14, 2006 - Had with left over leg of lamb. On initial pouring: translucent, mature color with orange bricking at the rim. Aroma has a general funk (in a good way), mushrooms and forest floor. Palate is nicely balanced and no real tannins. I found it very tasty and couldn't keep my hands off. An hour and a half later, nothing but alcohol. An hour and a half after that, the color is younger, though still with some orange bricking. Aroma and palate gain some red fruit in addition to the inital forest floor, and some tannins develop on the nice finish. It's terrifically complex and very tasty and a great bargain for $13. Sadly, there were no more left at the store when I tried to go back and buy some more.
