August 6, 2010 - Decanted for an hour before drinking, then had over the next 2+ hours. Quite an aroma of tar, leather and dark fruits. Taste had blackberry and chocolate. Had with some pasta with marinara & meatballs - it was quite tannic at the beginning, but later it let up a bit. I would've liked to had the food with it after the tannins subsided a bit more, but still a nice wine. I am interested to see how this develops in the future with the fruit lasting while it softens up.
