December 25, 2011 - Dark ruby hue, a very young wine indeed, needs time to unlock its true aromas and flavors. Opened 23 hours ago, it is showing abundant black cherry, raspberry, strawberry and blueberry aromas with elements of black pepper, anise, cedar, graphite, orange peel and an undertone of herbal bouquet showing Asian spice and eucalyptus. Very complex nose. Full bodied. An attack of black cherry, red currant and raspberry leads into a well-structured mid-palate of gritty, velvety tannin and fresh acidity. Very long aftertaste, balanced and complex, with black cherry, blueberry and orange peel lingering, finishing with anise, cedar and coffee. Extremely age-worthy wine that will be enjoyable after 2013. 92 PLUS.
