  January 29, 2012 - Deep red with a bit of rust around the rim. Nose is all earth, dry currants and a hint of cedar. First notes of prune, currant, some raspberry and blackberry. Blueberry towards the end with a finish of some earth and wet stones. A short finish. Tannins have blended and softened. Glad we drank this when we did -- won't improve from here. Not necessarily on the downslope but it doesn't have enough to age more. Nose is fabulous, the wine doesn't fully fulfill the promise of the nose.
