  December 19, 1999 - Very healthy appearance; the nose shows depth and power, warm and vinous, cedar, slightly dusty tannins, spicy, complex topnotes, hint of sweetness, more like a 1959; good weight, sturdy old-fashioned tannic structure, broad shoulders, powerful, excellent balance, no signs of decay, lively, charming in spite of slightly drying tannins; very good length. Montrose clearly has delivered an outstanding 1960.
