November 11, 2012 - Had alongside the 89 Lynch and clearly a beauty. More feminine than the powerful, muscular 89...but it has plenty of life left for those that enjoy mature clarets.

12/2/12, 5:27 AM - Did you decant the LB 82? If so, how long?

12/2/12, 8:24 AM - I did not decant the 82 LB, as I prefer to assess the aromatic evolution of older wines in the glass.

12/2/12, 9:56 AM - Smart, would have done the same. I have one bottle left of that vintage. Do you drink mostly Bordeaux? Are you in the wine business?

12/2/12, 6:23 PM - Bordeaux, particularly well aged claret, is my love. Admittedly, I also enjoy aged wines from many regions including Loire Valley, Piedmont and Burgundy. As much as I love red wines, one of my favorite wines in Haut Brion Blanc. I am not in the wine business, but I have the pleasure of drinking with various parties who are involved with the wine trade. Cheers

12/2/12, 6:42 PM - Same here. I am particularly fond of Tuscan wines, Rioja, and of course, California. Nonetheless, it is very hard to top mature claret or aged burgundy.
