Community Tasting Note

December 24, 2012 - Opened and Drunk with family at christmas eve. Good wine. Ruby/red colour. The nose is incredibly ripe fruit. I insist, very very ripe. Red and black. Thats what it most call your attention when you smell it. Also wood, mint and lead pencil. A little decadent. Smells like a medoc wine, like cos d estournel, for example, st estephe. Restrained and elegant. I really enjoyed it, but i would dare to disagree with most of the recent tasting notes of this wine. Its not an outstanding wine, in my opinion. Its a very good wine, tough. Taste is complex and developed, the tannins has softened up and the wine is lusty and over ripped. Medium body. 30/40 seconds aftertaste. A great Napa wine, theres no doubt about it, but far from a masterpiece. Maybe its already fading, or hit its peak 2/3 years ago. Robert parker says its a wine to be drunk untill 2025. Wine spectator says its untill 2010. I am more inclined to agree with WS. Still very goody. But if you have it, its definatelly time to drink it.
